It's like Digimon. Yeah it's a blatant, shameless ripoff, but it makes so much sense you almost can't fault them for it. Smash Bros. is such a fun game concept, it's kind of a shame that nobody else has tried to take a piece of that pie until now (the TMNT game doesn't count).

I feel like it'll be a bigger hit with a younger audience. A lot of us are "meh" at the idea of Drake, Ratchet, Sackboy, and whoever else, but I'm sure those characters have defined the childhood of tons of gamers, much like Link, Mario, and Samus did for us when the original Smash Bros. dropped. Just a few years later.

I will add in that, like others, for it to really hit my nostalgia button, I'd have to see Crash and Spyro. Those two really make me think "Playstation classics". Licensing is a bummer!

To repeat what I said in another thread on this topic, I liked the gameplay of SSB, but not the characters. I don't care about Pokemon, Mario or Zelda. I DO care, however, for Drake, Kratos and Cole. So, this game has a market, and I'll be happy to play it. Yes, it's a complete rip-off, but if it were up to me, everry single platform would have one of these. Then in the end they could do a massive cross-platform crossover.

IM kinda suprised by this...I mean sony has a history of copying Nintendo but they dont really have an established roster of characters that are beloved and associated with the playstation brand. At least not to the level nintendo has.

That's basically how I feel. It's hardly like it was an inspired bolt of lightning from Nintendo in the first place.

Besides, I get to play as Crash motherfucking Bandicoot, and beat the shit out of that pussy Kratos. Who doesn't want that?

I dont really CARE if they rip off smash brothers, as long as they make a good game. Though to be honest its looking a bit too much like smash brothers from what we've seem, that might be distracting.
