Chrono Cross was my favorite PS1 game, and I do consider it a classic. When a ten-year-old JRPG plays better than the vast majority of the modern stuff, I think that justifies a classic game.
Yeah but it's no Chrono Trigger.

OT: Intelligent Cube! I loved that game and lost my copy. can't find it anywhere now :(
I dunno. I liked Chrono Cross more. The only place where I felt Chrono Trigger was truly superior was in its ending.
Not denying Chrono Cross is a good game. But really I found the gameplay, battles, storyline, characters and their development, humour, tech system, multiple endings, replay value, (should I go on?) all to make the CT far superior to CC.

Chrono Trigger is my favourite JRPG of all time. It's followed by FF7 and 3, Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia, and a ton of others before CC even makes it on the list.

Bugs Bunny lost in time.

best game ever!

so much variety in the levels, good humour, some times where you really had to stop & think.
I actually had that.
Wow.
But I got stuck somewhere.

Spyro
/thread.

Spyro seems to be the one game that I played as a kid that I can still stand playing even now.
Apart from Crash Bandicoot and Pokemon of course.

Klonoa 1 was the shit back then. With Spyro, Sonic, Crash, Rayman, all these walking animals would visit my room and we would go on adventures every night.

9 was the only Final Fantasy game I ever felt worth my time getting a good distance into... haven't gotten around to #8 yet, 7 just felt too damn depressing for like 90% of the playtime (I don't care if your bloody fucking planet is dying, put a smile on while you dispatch the bastards that are responsible for it, damnit!), and the others before it were rather short... Not to mention the battle system BARELY changes after #3 until the humpnut that is FFX

Anyhow, did anyone play Parasite Eve or Persona 2: Eternal Punishment? (granted, the latter one was only half the story, and PE was rather hilariously campy in it's presentation, but still damn good) I list both of those as classics.

Abe's Oddysee
An absolute timeless classic that game is. Also, Future Cop: LAPD, Spyro, and some others I can't remember.
"Hello! Hello! Follow me! Okay!"
Fun at first, slowly becomes irritating. By the end, becomes work and I don't play games to work.
Yeah, that's why I occasionally took control of the...Sligs, or whatever they were called, and pretended I was on patrol.
'Hi, huhuhu!'

G-Police - helicopters in space? Inspired!

Colony Wars - Epic space opera thing. Without the opera. And lots of guns.

Tomb Raider 2 - When Tomb Raider was actually still pretty good.

F1 '97 - I bought my PS1 for this game.

Medal of Honor - I still remember with glee the first time I got my hands on a mounted MG42 at the end of the railway line near the start. Carnage ahoy!! Oh, and multicoloured stars.

Metal Gear Solid - Who else spent hours wandering around the base looking for the effing CD case?

Gran Turismo - The first Dual Shock game I can remember playing and looked the dogs bolleuax in its day.

It never occurred to me at the time just what a ground breaking console it actually was. Great days!

X-Men Mutant Academy 2 and X-Men vs Street Fighter. I could spend all day playing those games. Playing Twisted Metal 2 multiplayer was so much fun back then.

My personal favourite is Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.

I put so many hours into that game, just to get the full 105%.
I even managed to get all platinum relics.

The levels were varied, colourful, and just a sight to behold. I still prefer the look and feel of this game so much more than the dull bland grey stuff we get in today's games *cough* Gears of War *cough*.

The gameplay varied in a lot of levels, from driving a motorbike, to a jet ski, to air planes, and even a cute tiger.

This is my favourite platformer ever, and one of my favourite games ever.

Other notable games I enjoyed a lot were:

Colin Mcrae Rally
Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
Crash Team Racing
Final Fantasy VII/VIII/IX
Croc 1/2
Disney's Hercules
Dragonball Final Bout
Formula 1 '97
Gran Turismo 1/2
Metal Gear Solid
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee/Exodus
Porsche Challenge
Ridge Racer Type 4
Rayman
Rollcage
Small Soldiers
Soul Blade
Speed Freaks
Spyro
Tekken 2/3
Tombi
Toca
Wipeout 2097

I'm going to have to say:

FFVII & FFVIII
Dino Crisis 1 & 2
MediEvil 1 & 2
Resident Evil 1 - 3
Metal Gear Solid
The Legend of Dragoon
Tomb Raider 1 - 3
Tekken 2
Suikoden
Silent Hill
Twisted Metal
Earthworm Jim 2
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Crash Bandicoot 1 - 3
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Spyro - The Year of the Dragon
Rayman 2
Megaman (For some reason can't remember which one I liked the most)

And that's all I can think of. There was a Sailor Moon game I wanted but never could find! =[

I had my own PS1 but I think the best games are probably due to the fun I had playing games at other people's places:

Crash Team Racing - Sixth Form console
Smackdown (the first one) - Sixth Form console
Soul Blade - Irish cousin's game.

I also loved FF8 and Tenchu.

Bushido Blade was one classic Playstation One game which I defiantly think is a noticeable game due to being one of the most realistic sword fighting games ever, even in comparison to games created now.

I'm actually surprised that no one mentioned Doom at all. I loved that for its creepy atmosphere, awesome sounds, and it was the first Doom I ever played (switching to the PC version felt petty awkward).

Then there was Metal Gear Solid, I wish I could play that game again to mess with the guards with the stealth camo, fun times...

A few other ones I find to be classics;
Duke Nukem 3D
Worms
Wipeout
Ridge Racer

...I can't really remember any more.
