Hello escapist today I sat a maths test that I have been heavily revising for and was sure to get my desired grade an A. I worked through all of the test proud of my work but when I left the room and began discussing the test with my colleges I had found that I had skipped a question, question seven to be specific 13% of my grade I am now going to have to stay back a year and that I have wasted a year of my life.

So I come to you in my time of need and kindly request that you cheer me up.

I think I just took the same test as you.
I was aiming for an A as well, but due to an extreme level of sleep deprivation I'm expecting a C at best.

Which was question 7 anyway...

I don't think 87% is a failing grade...
Yeah, the grade boundary for an A is like 70-75% I believe.
And the questions weren't too hard for him by the sounds of it.

I once fell out of the shower and smacked my head on the toilet seat.

Does that help any? I'm massively depressed so cheering up isn't really my forte.

An A is 80% I have a maximum of 87% leaving a 17% margin for error as opposed to 30%, which is what i, would most likely require I have failed to meet my target I am upset is it so hard to be nice.

You could always watch the introductions to the shows you watched as a kid, always makes me feel better.

Oh well, you can resit it in May/June you know, or you should be able to anyway.
Did you find any of the other questions particularly hard?

If you're into anime, I would suggest watching Excel Saga.
It's completely retarded and the strange comedy is very refreshing and can certainly cheer someone up.

If you want to be pushed over the edge though, watch SaiKano / Saishuu Heiki Kanojo, one if the most depressing anime I have ever seen.

[HEADING=1]This should do the trick.[/HEADING]

Don't know why these won't show up on my computer. Maybe they will on yours.

Seriously, though, it'll be alright. Plenty of people have done plenty stupider things, and suffered WAY worse consequences for it.

Yeah, I don't get it. One of 'em worked in the preview, but when I added the second, they both stopped working and haven't come back. *pouts* pics never work for me on this site. Oh, well, fuck it, copy/paste the URL's to your browser bar and enjoy.

You supposedly studied diligently and followed the criteria attentively you should not blame yourself for something like this. In my perspective the best thing to do is to improve yourself, if you let yourself mourn over something you have no control over anymore you are wasting your time.

^_^ I believe you can do better if you put your mind to it and it was not a year wasted think of it as a year used for preparation. Preparation of later success! :D

Hmm at Sixth-Form, A was 80%.. but in colleges you could get a distinction (which is also an A) for 70%.. I'm guessing the OPs college is 80%

That sucks man as I know what you mean when maths was concerned. And now my degree, I aim really high and though it doesn't matter to some people.. I know it's something I need to do. Making a simple mistake really blows a hole through you, but it'll heal eventually. Remember you can stil average out above 80% for the A, it's only 1 of 6 maths tests if I remember correctly, and you can redo it if you want.

Luckily with maths you can resit, with my Music Tech I didn't really have a choice. I got a few Ds in the first year of Music Tech and As in the second and came out only a few marks off a B.

What the fuck kind of grading scale do you people have? 90%+ is an A, 80-89% is a B.

If that's the kind of scale you have to worry about, count yourself lucky.
