As long as I can remember I have never been able to taste sour. If I eat something that is said to be "sour" I cannot taste it, just an odd bland taste. I can taste bitterness like in Ale and stuff but not "sour".
I was told it's like an extremely fresh vibe you get on your tongue and depending on the intensity of the flavour it can improve taste or make your tongue roll and cause disgust. I can bite into lemons like an apple with no problems.

You can't describe "sour" its like trying to describe "happy" or "blue" its something that you experience and has no tangible essence to describe.

This is kind of a hard question to answer. Is it even possible to describe tastes without referring to things they taste like? I suppose it's just like the anti-sweet. Sorry to be so little help.

I sat here and tried to puzzle out a good description for about five minutes straight, but then I realized it was like trying to describe color to the blind. Sorry, friend, but in my case, the senses just "are".

Think of the sensation that causes you to recoil in frustration or panic, then see that in a taste.

Describing taste is a bit like describing colors, but I'll give it a shot.
I'd say it's a bit like bitter, though not entirely. Sour to me has a bit of a bite to it; a kind of sting that isn't necessarily painful, though can be uncomfortable if its concentrated.
Much different than the kind of sting you get from spicy, though.

Sour...

Hmm, it's very sharp, and can often be unpleasant.

We have a saying around here for something that is very sour.

"It makes your tabs laugh."

'Tabs' being english slang for ears.

Sour is the taste that detects acidity. If you can't taste it in wine, try biting into a fresh lemon, orange, or grape. If you still find yourself unable to detect sourness, leave a carton of milk out until it curdles, then take a whiff (you can tell it's ready when the carton is hard, it releases pressurized gas into your face open opening, and what used to be milk is covered in green substance).

Edit: Better yet, don't brush your teeth for a few days (at all). You should taste sour buildup soon.

Hmm describing a taste is kind of like describing a color: its really difficult. I'd say sour is kinda like sharp and tart and acidic. I don't like the taste really.

It's a strong feeling of a tangy taste that can make you roll your tongue back. When something is really sour, you won't want to taste it. As a boy, it's generally a test of manhood for one to get the most sour they can out of it. It's more of a daring taste rather than a relaxing one. However, people can often be in the mood for it much like they are for something like hot sauce. It's very flavorful, especially in candies.

Has anyone ever given you a prank pen or gum pack that shocks you when you try to use it? it surprises you but not quite hurt, and after the first time, you can do it for a bit without being too startled. if you can imagine that on your tongue, that's sour.

Well, if it's sour enough it'll make you screw your face up and your head'll shake by itself. Does that help at all? Probably not. Buut it's a start.
Sour stuff is usually really nice, though. Usually.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that. I'll assume that your sweet taste buds work, right? Many people find sour to be the polar opposite. Sour is tartiness. Best way to understand it is to go through your scale of citrus. Sour is a taste you can associate with citrus that's approaching a bad flavor, but it grows on you for making the taste buds sit up like that, all stimulated and whatnot.
