Sour... this is pretty easy.
Go buy 2 or 3 lemons & a straw. You make a hole in one of the lemons & then you introduce the straw in the hole... be gentle now, don't rush it, it requires careful timing. Then what you do is you suck on the lemon using the straw... remember to breathe... take your time... find your comfortable happy place. If you don't feel anything by the time you finish sucking all the life juice out of the 1st lemon, don't worry & start over... repeat the same steps with the 2nd & 3rd lemon until you start to feel the sourness of life & voila! you're a cured man!

A hard question, since 'sour' is a descriptive word itself. It's not a bad taste, but experiencing it makes your face want to invert upon itself. Let's see...lemons are sour. Then there's that atomic sour candy... And earwax (don't ask me how I know that)... Honestly, it's the best I can do as far as describing it goes.

Pucker up, buttercup. Sour makes your face pinch up like your avatar.

Eat a bowl of sauerkraut soaked in lemon juice and call me in the morning.

You can't describe "sour" its like trying to describe "happy" or "blue" its something that you experience and has no tangible essence to describe.
Yup.. Thats about it

Honestly the only thing I could say is that it is basically bitter but... good. You see how retarded that sounds?! Its just something you have to experience.

Sour flavors are mainly salty with an acidic aftertaste, you should get the same stimulation by taking a wiff of strong vinegar or the oil from citrus rinds.

Sour pretty much tastes the opposite of sweet, try eating something filled with sugar like a cake or a chocloate bar then tasting something less sweet, like an apple. It feels like something that's supposed to be sweet really really isn't. That's part of the attraction of sour food for me, after eating it everything else seems sweet by comparison even the stuff that usually isn't.

Its like you can feel warmth but not cold. People enjoy warmth when they are cold and enjoy cold when they are hot. When you're hot everything else feels cold and when you're cold everything else feels hot. That's pretty much how sweet and sour work.

Sour feels like your tongue is burning a bit as if its trying to tell you whatever you're eating isnt sweet enough. That's the best I can describe it for someone who never felt it on his own.

It's has the repulsiveness of saltiness, but without the sharpness, and the penetration of sweetness.

Think of sour as the stinging feeling of a static shock, except less painful and with an undertone of sweetness. It also can have a bit of bitter to it.

Alternatively, think taste bud masochism.
