Please explain to me why the Darkness is so great and if I should buy it.

I recently played the Darkness on my brothers PS3, I was mildly impressed with it, having loved Escape from Butcher Bay by the same developers I felt comfortable with the controls and some of the game mechanics.

I got up to the point where you meet the Butcher guy and the police raid the Butcher's place, up until that point it was a pretty good game and I enjoyed it a bit, but a lot of you guys on this Forum make it out to be really awesome, so tell me why its so damn good and wether you recomend I buy it.

Not that I wasn't impressed, but after switching out discs to play inFAMOUS I immediatley forgot about it, I'm not sure if I didn't make it to the good part or if I missed somthing.

It's got a rather neat story to it, and I believe in supporting well made licensed games.

If you enjoyed the demo, BUY IT! The demo isn't half as good as the real game.

Fantastic story + Fantastic voice acting + epic gunfights + excessive gore = win

Its got a great story, good voice acting, is pretty immersive.

I dunno, its just good. Its oneo of those things that adds up to be more than the sum of its parts.

You get a lot more awesome darkness powers. You visit purgatory and it's fuckin' freaky.

I admittingly got it because it had my favorite vocalist ever doing the voice for the Darkness, Mike Patton, but why I enjoyed the game is because it was different, which is the thing I'm into. At times, it may just be a FPS game, but it's hard not to be original when you send out serpent things to eat hearts and can summon black holes against helicopters. Besides my favorite aspect of an unique game, it has a strong and well-written story. To get the experience, you would need to play the whole thing. It's not exactly a game where you can pull out and play on section of it and get te whole experience.

Considering i bought it at gamestop for $3 the other day, if you even kind of liked it i'd suggest getting it.

Meh I though it was pretty crap to be honest. But then opinions are subjective. No everyone is going to like everything.

EDIT: Actually there were a few sick parts now that I think about it. In fact I think I may have to give it another go now!
