Alright, yesterday, I was in the middle of a game of TF2, when something very weird happened. i stopped being able to turn, and when I hit Escape to try to figure out what was going on, I realized I couldn't move my Mouse's cursor. I could use the mouse buttons and wheel just fine, but it wouldn't register when I moved it. I tried changing the batteries, but it didn't work. At this very moment, I'm forced to use my family's crappy PC to even ask for this help. If anyone knows what the problem is and/or how I can fix it, please help.

If it's an older trackball mouse, it might need to be cleaned. Take out the trackball and make sure all the rollers are clear.

Nah, but we don't have any spares. I'll try that when I can, but it can't hurt to look at other possibilities. Any other ideas?

EDIT:

Nope, its a new-style mouse.

EDIT#2:

Does it register as an input device?
The receiver does (its a wireless mouse), and as I said, It registers clicking and using the mouse wheel, just not actually moving.

It might be worth mentioning that it was relatively gradual.

Alright give us some info here, what kind or model mouse is it?
It could be that the thing just died, but it's probably the software that crashed.
Try the other mouse on your pc, to see if it works, otherwise Buy yourself a $5,- backup mouse.

Yup.
You might be able to get it to hook back up if you restart the computer. It worked when my last mouse cut out.
Thanks, but I tried that.

Lets see... its Dell brand, it came with the computer. That's about as specific as I can get, sorry. Thanks for the help, btw.

Try plugging it into a different USB port. That'll cause windows to re-load the drivers.

EDIT: How are you using the forums without a mouse?

Mmh, is it only in TF2 or in other applications as well?
Edit: Never mind, you said you have already restarted.
Try reinstalling the drivers, or otherwise look for a new mouse.
Sorry, wouldn't know otherwise.

Family's crappy, slow PC. Tried it, btw.

Looks like the consensus is that I need a new mouse, thanks everyone.

It's not the mouse, it's the game. I have that problem, you can either navigate to restart the game with the keyboard or just wait... I think that solves it.

Nope, it happens outside the game too, now.
