Help me if you can I'm feeling down (down down),
and I do appreciate you being around.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
won't you please, please help me?

Ofcourse they will, people will scapegoat one or more racial, religious, ethnic or national groups of people for all their problems and they will seek to destroy them.

As much of a System Shock fanboy as I am, I gotta say, you've been playing it FAR too much.

"Mistrust is the tyranny of the individual. Your own kind sees you as a threat! Why do you murder our unity? No matter, the line is drawn. You will cease to be. It is just a question of who will bring your end. Us, or you."

Anyway... back on topic...

You know what? I'm gonna go against the crowd here and say NO.

NO: Because more and more of the world's problems are being solved by political, technological and general humanitarian means.

Yes, there are still major, major problems, but anybody who lived through the Irish conflict and couldn't see an end to that, or in divided Berlin and couldn't see an end to that either, would testify that these things do clear up (and are not always replaced by more problems somewhere else!)

Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

Merry Christmas.

- No. It'll be a Christmas miracle! ... maybe not this year, but next year for sure! ... or the year after that, or after that...

... one can hope, right?

Yes. They say that things change but stay the same. People hating eachother is nothing new and neither is genocide.

Yes. The twentieth century probably had the most genocide and systematic ethnic cleansing of any century in history, so it's not like this is something that's become less prevalent with time.
