my xbox 360 got the red ring of death 3 days ago. It is red in quadrants 1 and 3(the left half of the circle). I've looked it up and that mean that my xbox is overheated. But its literally been days and apparently its still overheated but its been 3 days! i even have an intercooler to avoid this problem and it still happened, and i know its not really overheated cuz when i turn it on the fans dont even turn on, but it still has the overheated symbol.

Has anyone had this problem? Or have any suggestions? i could use some help.

You could try the towel trick, or just send it out to get repaired. Still, that sucks, sorry.

I'm not sure what to do but I reccomend never using the intercooler. It causes more problems than benefits.

either go to ur retailer and get it replaced (assuming you have a replacement plan) or send it out to get repaired.

When I got the rings it somehow fixed itself when I tipped on its side and stood back up again... But apart from that very long shot I can't help.

ehh shit happens, send it in, get a replacemnet, or watch a employee try to fix it themselves and make it worse

i got it from gamestop refurbished so idk bout a warranty.I was afraid i would have to send it in, but everything that I've read said that an overheating problem would fix itself so I've been reluctant to

ROFLMFAO!

OT: If the fans aren't turning on then that means it IS over heating. The sole purpose of the fans is to cool the system, if your warranty is any good take it back to the retailer and have them fix it or replace it. If they won't/can't send it in to Microsoft and tell them you have a defective unit.

I got this magical formula from a Persian gypsy that would fix this problem in a hurry.

Honestly, what do you think? Send it in to Microsoft -.-"

almost everyone with the 360 has had that problem. Did you know that 70% of the first batch that came out were defective....... If you still have warranty, send it to Microsoft to get it repaired. If not then go to one of those places that repair consoles on the side,i don't need to go in detail, but i don't know if the DRM technology in 360 will cause you to be banned from xbox live if you get it repaired outside Microsoft.

To the fountain of life! RUN! I'll pack the bags, you buy the plane tickets...

Seriously though, send it in, or do one of the crazy things on youtube that may or may not work but will void your warranty.

Open it up and screw around with the insides. Worked for my friend. If you fail its not like Microsoft will void your warranty for.... never mind

In the quiet words of the virgin mary, come again?

When i had the red ring of death, i just called microsoft and they got ups to come to my house, pick it up and i had it back in two weeks. They also paid for it which was nice.

I did have to get a box for the xbox however, which i just went to any local supermarket and asked if they had a box i could use.
