Though I like House well enough, if I run across it by accident. I make a point of actually following Grey's Anatomy. The first (few) season have a bit more comedy in them, and the latter ones are a bit heavier on the relationship drama.

The actors, though al TV attractive, are (mostly, one of them was a photomodel in story) less model pretty and just "regular" pretty.

Nearly all of my medically educated friends also prefer it over House, but that might be because they're all women...

House & Grey's Anatomy are great starting points, although House would get struck off so fast it's not even funny, and the science is dubious at best. I don't think I've ever seen a hospital show that did the medicine well, so you'll have to compromise on that...have you tried a soap like Holby City?

Well, there goes my only suggestion. :/
Just checking, have you watched at least a bit of House and decided you don't like it, or are you just assuming you won't?
I've gotta admit, I've just heard that whilst the protagonist is a miserable cynical misanthrope, it over glamourises being a doctor, and the doctors look like supermodels, and there's interesting medical mysteries happening every week woohoo!

I'll watch it if people recommend it, I have an open mind on this thread :3
Consider me a recommender, I think House is fantastic. It gets a bit more bizarre by time, I think it has something to do with the fact that there is a limited number of interesting and weird diseases in the world, so they have to start adding more drama to pad out storylines. I like the character of House, though I always fall for the cynical ones.

House was a good one until the Vicodin stopped. ER was fun to watch but only after Clooney left. Those are the only 2 I have watched. Have not seen Royal Pains or the Mindy Project so I cannot say on those two.

ER!

Medically accurate to the extent a tv show can be (they had professionals behind the scenes giving advice) and realistic yet interesting characters and subplots, i.e. the doctors and nurses don't DIE every other minute or otherwise sleep around like bunnies on acid, but they have actual real problems that anyone could relate to. The show went on for 15 years and without ever getting horrible.

Also, it has George Clooney.

(which is odd to me to be honest, because while I think the man's a comedic genius, outside House, he was only in some pretty crappy drama films).
But... What? I don't even...

Do you not know who the 'Laurie' from Fry and Laurie [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fry_and_Laurie] was?
A Bit of Fry and Laurie is neither drama nor film. So not sure what you're getting at, as I said, the man's a comedic genius :)

Did I miss it???
WHY ISN'T NURSE JACKIE RECOMMENDED!?!?
Seriously yeah House is amazing, I own all the seasons *****. But Nurse Jackie is great too, right???
Nurse Jackie, watch it!
LOL, I'm such a hypocrite, I missed a season or two on Nurse Jackie.
Also Scrubs (the older the seasons the better, rule applies here) and yeah its not a drama, its a comedy thing.
