This is advertising, which is not allowed.

I have a question regarding the forum rules here. One of my biggest issues with writing articles and other things for my blog is that occasionally my structure can become quite convoluted.

If I was to post an article that I have written into the advice forum, with the intent of asking for critique and did not in any way link to or advertise my blog, would this be considered spam and thus incur penalties?

Thanks in adavance.
If you copy/paste it here, and not link it back to your blog/website, it will be okay. While it is a difficult line to dance along, the big factor here is whether or not it goes or leads back to something off of these forums. That usually separates it from advertising, generally anyhow. If absolutely needed, you may have a link or two present too, but if you plan on going this route I would like a PM draft of your thread to see what it looks like before you post it, so I can approve it and make sure you won't get in trouble for it. If approved by me, you will be problem free. :)

I think the set-up is fine.

I think you should also completely remove the Meta section. Why give the game away?

two words man ... YouTube Channel.

I just don't see folks frequenting a Minecraft blog.

Do the same thing on YouTube once a week, with a little bit of voice over work and you're much more likely to generate traffic.

The way it is written doesn't seem to flow well to me. The sentences feel clunky imo, and some are prolly a bit on the long side. This might be caused by the fact you're aiming to write in an "olde time-y" way, and it's causing you to extend things to get that "feel" in. One thing to note is that I do have a bias to a shorter writing style, which does influence my opinion.

The "I feel it unwise to tally longer with old memoirs" sentence is a little confusing to me - 'memoirs' usually refers to (auto)biographies and he's tarrying himself with memories. I'm pretty sure you meant tarry instead of tally... not sure if tally can be used like that. Or you can dilly-dally :p.

I'm a compsci person, rather than an English graduate, so feel free to refute me :p Am a native to the UK tho ¬¬. You'll also find this post is written in the way I speak ¬¬.

The odd old time-y frame could come from where i get my old time references, Sir Conan Doyle to be exact. (sherlock Holmes) and he kindof has his own style that i may not have quite mastered yet.
Tally is kindof olde slang, and Memoirs is another one of these words that lost one of its meanings over time (like molest, which is only ever sexual now, whereas then it was to pester in any way, including coming over to borrow an egg)
