Because we know he's going to slaughter it and we want to be there to watch it. For those who would be interested in seeing a review for a 'Tales of' game.

Oooo, new account. Oh! Spell-check. I'm absurdly happy about that.

ANYWAY.

What I'd like to know is if Yahtzee would ever considers reviewing the 'Tales of' series. While considered a JRPG (and thus likely inferior) I'm curious as to his opinion on the game. Games. Whatever; they're all basically the same with improving story (debatable) and graphics (not). Still, despite the fact that they're made of cheese and corn it's not a bad combination. This might not be the combination but rather the corn is hand picked and fresh (or at least frozen), not the bland store bought canned kind and the cheese comes right out of Wisconsin like it's cannon launched aborted baby... while not the best analogy the point is that they are fresh (relatively) and of good quality making you forget the fact you're eating cheese and corn in the first place.

What I'm trying to say is that while Yahtzee no doubt would read this and go 'I bet it's horrible' I hope he's at least interested because the game is good. I'm not the best judge but I am an 'average' player as well and this game is fun. So fun I've wasted(up to interpretation if wasted is the right word) over 100+ hours on each game.

Now let me skip to the point where I explain why I like it. Feel free to skip down to here.
1) It's got it's story on... if by 'on' I mean like a sexy black dress is on the sexiest person to wear it you can think of and if by 'story' I mean complex Epic. Capitalization needed.
2) Gameplay. While not the best it is quite revolutionary. Like most JRPGs you have your cast of selectable characters with their series stereotypes. This game doesn't have the usual system for such games (you attack, they attack, your kneecaps start bleeding because of how many monsters you've kneed in their 'weak spots') because instead of turn-based it's realtime. This can actually be quite difficult and the computers don't help that much (such as the stupid ***** known as healer in Tales of Vesperia) but it's a battle style I at least recommend. (However; To(Tales of)Symphonia lacks free-run while having the best plot and ToPhantasia is 2-D which is not recommended. I also can not say anything about the other ones besides TotAbyss.)
3) Multiplayer. Not the best multiplayer but it is there and it is a pretty good system for it. Basically I play with one other person at all time so you limit the amount of stupid NPCs until you start a second playthrough on 2x experience... assuming you want to. Unfortunately this does not help your helth status much because no one plays as the healer-*****, and if you do you're a doofus.
4) Atmosphere. Be it the music, scenery, characters, it doesn't matter. The world comes to life with all it's idiosyncrasies and mindless NPCs that somehow don't pull away from the game at all.
5) VOICE ACTING. This is in all caps because this is where the series shines. The dialogue is smooth and flawless, inflection perfect, emotion almost real. The voice acting in this game is like the purest crack. Once you have it you can't help but keep longing for it even after your budget forces you back to the crappy stuff. If this doesn't make you happy in your pants then you're probably sterile or you thought it would be cool to accept jump cables from the creepiest town in exsistence and thought it would be cool to stick them on your balls.

From what little information I can gather about the specimen Yahtzeeus Minorus, he isn't very integrated with the Escapist community. As a result, I wouldn't imagine he'd read this and it is an old game - not his style, sadly.

Of course it's his style, but only old games that he likes, despite the fact that they have a wonderful combat system, I highly doubt he likes the Tales series.

Who cares what Yahtzee thinks about a particular game anyway?

He claims to dislike JRPGs, so why would he or anyone else that hates them waste time playing said genre? It just seems pointless. If you like the game, good - go write a review in the User Review forum (because thats what this thread essentially is) but don't post otherwise pointless threads like this.

I think you may have mis-interpreted what I said.

I meant that it wasn't his style to review old games, ie he rarely goes back to review games he may have missed.

Ah, apologies.
It's plausible it could happen if enough people e-mailed him about Tales doing things differently from other J-RPGs, such has happened before, although he'd likely be loathe to believe it.

Likely. But honestly what do you expect? And furthermore the Tales of Vesperia game is coming out again on the PS3. Thus it is a 'new game'.

Hence the word 'rarely'.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I gather you want Yahtzee to review this game/series of games. Even if he read/posted in threads, what's the likelyhood of him coming across this one?
