Alright, so, as a holiday gift, my father wishes to buy me a game...I'm sure you know where this is going.

This is good, because I feel like I need something new and shiny after playing Fable 3 for the last two months, with my concept of reality blurring and all.

I prefer my games on the 360, but I have every modern console, as well as I am getting a pretty decked out gaming PC. I already decided that I WILL NOT GET BLACK OPS so please don't suggest it.

I was thinking about New Vegas, as I have been leery of it even before it came out, but a friend who was equally leery actually got it on a huge discount and is loving the EXTREME MODE. Yet, I'm still not sure. (I liked Fallout 3.)

So, what am I do to, fellow Escapists? Which game should I get? My tastes in games really only exclude the racing genre. Oh, and please make it one that recently came out. THANK YOU!

-LnP

EDIT: Changed the title to make me seem less obnoxious...

Due to an overwhelming response, I have chosen Fallout: New Vegas for the PC!

Thank you fellow Escapists!

I thought this said titties instead of titles at 1st, but I'll still comment
Note: I'm mostly a PC gamer but I have a PS3 and 360 with a few games so I kinda know those systems)

Some suggestions:
WoW Cataclysm
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Civilization 5 on PC is pretty good
Amnesia Dark Decent if you want a good horror game on the PC
New Vegas is good but has a lot of bugs
Super Meat Boy (I've never played it but I've heard good things)

Those are the ones off the top of my head

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
The Orange Box.
Dead Rising 2

I recommend the PC versions for all of these. Especially the Orange Box.

Despite your hatred of racing games, you should get GT5. If you really don't wanna play it, then you should mail it and your PS3 to me so that I can thoroughly enjoy it. :D

Well, I personally love the new Donkey Kong Country Returns. And I WAS going to recommend Muramasa the Demon Blade, but that's old so...

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for awesome multiplayer mode, is the only thing I can think of right now. They're about to release the Vietnam expansion as well.

Lost Odyssey.

I'm not gonna change my answer to these threads until you've all played it...

Oh and Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Bayonetta, Red Dead Redemption, Enslaved : Odyssey to the West and Alan Wake...

Kinda difficult to suggest games when you don't tell the reader what games you currently own...

Thank you all thus far, but this man makes a good point.

I didn't tell what I owned because I own a shit-ton of games. I've played, and beaten all but Enslaved, and I'm already getting a copy of Alan Wake with my new 360.

I'll go with the nostalgia crowd and sugest Donkey Kong Country Returns, the Sly Cooper Collection, and Kirby's Epic Yarn. Oh, and if that doesn't sound good, have him pre-order Dragon Age II in full.

If you liked Fallout 3 you'll definitely like New Vegas because it's exactly the same, only with different quests, some new weapons and items etc. You know what I mean. It's like a really good mod, with a shitload of bugs lol.

Also, side note, I recently replayed Metal Gear 4, and that is a pretty ridiculous game. In a good way. It's so ambitious... the fistfight with Liquid Ocelot at the end is unlike any boss fight I've ever seen in a game, they way they handle the cinematography and everything.

Super Meat Boy's pretty darn good, and maybe (hopefully) you'll be able to preorder Portal 2 by then.

You should get Dragon Age:Origins, its an epic game. I have it on the 360 but I hear its better on the PC so its up to you. Could also go for AC:Brotherhood and Fallout:NV

He says he has all modern consoles.

Get New Vegas, you won't regret it :)

Now, I can't mod, or rather, I have never tried to.

Playing shooters on PC's feel a bit awkward for me, as I like having the trigger...but...is the achievements on the 360 and PC versions of New Vegas the same?
