If you can deal without graphics, I would go for Planetfall. It's an old text adventure game, but if you use your imagination you can deal with the lack of graphics.

Sniping in Tf2.

That aside - There were these old medevil based learning point-and-click games I used play non-stop when I was younger. I can't remember the name exactly.

After just having finished the superb Machinarium, I was wondering - what other point and click adventure games of this calibre are there on the market? It's such an awesome genre, I enjoyed playing through that clever, intimate experience far more than, for example, playing Red Dead Redemption (which is awesome, but it just feels less...personal?) What's your favourite point and click game, and why?
If you can find them, the Discworld games were quite good.

There was also a relatively recent release called Vampyre Story. I haven't got around to playing it yet, but it is a point an click adventure.

There are lots of great suggestions in here. To add, the newer Telltale Sam and Max games are entirely more entertaining than I thought they'd be. Telltale also put out a superb series based on the Homestar runner comics.

Blows my mind honestly.

The longest journey, syberia and syberia 2. Those are REALLY great point and click games.

Dreamfall is pretty good as well and is in the same universe as TLJ, but is not point and click.

Edit: Forgot about Still life 1&2. Those are pretty good as well.

Edit2: World of goo is a really great game as well, and I guess you can call it point and click. Not really adventure thoug, but the story is actually really good.

Syberia. Syberia. Syberia. Syberia. Syberia.

I'll throw in the Myst series, of course, since I'm required to. Not to mention Submachine as well.

Oh, and Syberia.
