Pokémon: Any other "shiny virgins" out there?

I've found shines on my friends' games, but never mine. Never knocked one out though. Always caught them.

I've played red, blue, yellow (obviously didnt really have shinies) gold, silver, crystal, ruby, fire red, diamond, black and black 2 to death. In all that time I've only found 1, in gold, and I didnt really know why it was shiny. It was a stantler. It was atrocious, I'm pretty sure the only difference was the 'eyes' that are in its horns changed from black to red.
I tried the special chaining method in Diamond but i just couldnt get it going.

I've had shiny zubats in ever generation thus far and a shiny noctowl in crystal.

Shiny zubat isn't bad at all, mostly because I really like Crobat a lot, but shiny crobat is a bit ugly.

My brother caught a Modest Litwick that was shiny .____.

I've got 5, barring Gyrados and the Shiny's you get given via gift or event. (Though notably all these were gained before losing my own virginity)

Also you can increase the odds of getting a shiny using the PokeRadar in D/P/Pt if you really wanted a certain PKMN shiny.

I found a shiny Beautifly if my first Pokemon game, Sapphire, but sadly no longer have the save. That was on my first playthrough too, in which I had a severely overleveled Swampert before finding out how to catch other Pokemon.
Since then I have had no luck sadly. I have seen a shiny Espeon in a trainer battle though. Not sure if it was always like that but I thought it was pretty cool.

I remember when I was leveling some of my pokemons up before I faced off against the elite four in Pearl, found a shiny Medicham, almost proceeded going the usual pattern of knocking it out and get the exp before I finally realized "Ohh, thats a shiny!". I was happy for the rest of the day after capturing it.

Ah... this hits close to home. I have about 1000 hours of pokemon playtime logged,and I saw one shiny pokemon!

... A pokemon in a XD battle CD, meaning I can't catch it.

I've pretty much given up on catching a shiny now.

Never seen a shiny and I've played gen 1 maybe 500 hours, gen 2 maybe 200 and ruby and sapphire one playthrough each
Din't even know they excisted until like 2 months ago when I heard about it here on 'scapist

God, yes. I've been playing since gen 1- of course, shinies only arrived in gen 2.

But, anyway, I'd rather not disclose just how many hours of Pokemon I've played. I've added them all up, and it actually terrifies me. In that time I've seen no shinies, and no pokerus.

I've even specifically hunted for the buggers, spent hours trying to get me a shiny Chikorita. Those shinies just don't like me one bit.

I guess it's really only people who haven't seen one that want them this badly, though. Part of the thrill is that notion that "It's totally time I found one! Must be right around this corner!".

I wish odds worked the way I wanted them to...

Nope, shinies can appear randomly in the tower, Just as unlikely as appearing in the wild.

Again, this happens in the battle tower. It's random.

Shinies don't really mean anything to me anymore, still nice to find but you can always just RNG abuse for them if you really want one.

I may or not have caught a shiny Gastly in Crystal. I can't remember. I'm not sure if I'm a shiny virgin or not.

Which coincidently could also be applied to other types of virginity.

I have played through every game of every generation an still found none. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm over 2000 hours total and still haven't found a single one! I I'd be perfectly happy with a shiny Magikarp but noooo.

Edit: 2000 hours is a rough estimate but considering I'm over 400 hours on White alone, I'd say 2000 is accurate

I've got a shiny Purrloin, well Liepard now. Managed to come across her in the first hour or so of playing Pkmn Black. Was rather exciting. First and only shiny ive seen and caught.

Oh. Though I recently bought a preowned Soul Silver and to my surprise it was chock full of shiny pkmn, Legendary pkmn too. Though its highly possible that they were hacked.

Yup. Played through Gold, Crystal, Ruby, Emerald, Fire Red, Diamond and Platinum, clocked over 400-500ish hours I'd say (really rough estimate here) and I've never seen a single shiny ever.

Although I have gotten the Pokerus twice now so there's that.

I've only got 1 shiny from random encounters. I do have about 7-8 now, through various trades. My favorite is still my shiny gallade.
The problem with finding shiny pokemon is that they are shiny due to their pokemon IDs meeting certain criteria (I think its something like the last few digits have to match or something... too lazy to research it).

I'm not a shiny virgin... I'm a shiny WHORE. Over my entire pokemon career, I've encountered around 60 shinies and managed to capture 47 of them.

The one shiny I really wanted but could never catch was shiny Graveler in Platinum - I ran into one during one of those scripted double battles, so OF FUCKING COURSE my allies Lucario one-hit kills the glorious blue boulder before I could catch it.

I don't care if he gives me a Riolu egg for escorting his useless ass through that place, I'm never visiting it again. Teach him for fainting my chance at a golden Golem.

See, this just made me chuckle. Because one of the only two shinies I have ever encountered over what must be around 2000 hours of Pokemon was a shiny Geodude. He was the first shiny I have ever encountered. My lovely golden Golem now sits amongst my other cherished Pokemon, waiting to be ported over to X and Y as soon as they come out.

The other shiny I have found was a Poochyena. Golden Mightyena looks awesome, but he isn't really much use unfortunately.
