I like the evolution and discovering new Pokemon. Also nostagia.

Who would be your starter and what region would you start in
Prolly Charmander or Squirtle. I guess I'd start in whatever the town was in Platinum. Most Pokemon available.
While Pallet would be fucking awesome IRL I think getting even more Pokemon available to me and not knowing exactly where everything is would be fun.

Fire I guess. But ghost/psychic/fighting types are all pretty badass.

I don't think I have one. Maybe confusion. I always had a Butterfree and it was that move which would beat the first 3 gyms for me usually.

Protagonist: No preference, I guess gen 1, no stupid scarf or satchel bag. Just jeans, a tee shirt, a cap, a back pack and a jacket.
Gym Leader: Prolly Brock, he was always so fucking intense. Definately the hardest gym and as Yellow was my first game (and I was too retarded to use Mankey) he was super hard.
Rival: I dunno, the guy from Emerald who I named after my cat seemed like a cool guy.
Team Enemy: Rocket. The original.
Elite Member: The guy with Dragon Pokemon from the first gen.

The endgame is 2nd with my favorite pokemon. That's why I love that there's always so much backwards compatibility. I always bring my trusty Skippy(swampert) and Tempest(manaphy) on my journeys, and in B/W 2 I'll probably bring Bladestomr(bisharp) with me as well.

I really like the big cities, like castelia. Really, that was amazing. I want to see more of that.
Ultraball is coolest pokeball.

team enemies: Plasma, because their motivation goes beyond "MUST RULE WORLD". Though they're hypocrites, their cause is sympathetic.
elite member: Lance is cool.

Magikarp until evolves, but I'm not sure that counts.
The unkown are pretty shit despite being shown to have great power in that one movie. Kind of fun to collect and spell out "FUCK" with, though.

I want a baby form kangaskahn. WANT. Personally, I like the cubone branched evolution kangaskahn theory thing.
Somehow linking the pikachu lookalikes would also be appropriate.
I could probably go down the list of all pokemon and give TONS of ideas, but I don't have the patience.

1. For me it's raising my own team of Pokemon to become champions. There's just something about bringing a lowly Spearow up from the wild all the way to the champion fight against my rival that strikes a chord within me.
2. If I were to choose, I'd pick Snivy as my starter and we'd be kicking ass in Kanto.
3. As a starter? I'd pick Grass. I feel that it's somewhat under-appreciated compared to the Fire and Water types. So I usually like to pick it.
As a type overall? Probably Electric. So much raw power within that type class.
4. Hmm, that's a tough one. I guess I don't really have a favorite move.
5. Protagonist: Probably Ash. Yes, I said Ash. I don't care what they called him in Gold and Silver, to me he's Ash.
Gym Leader: Probably Brock from Red and Blue.
Rival: N from Black and White.
Team Enemies: It's a tie between Rocket and Plasma. The former I have nostalgic attachment to, and the latter actually has a goal that isn't completely black and white.

I never actually played a Pokemon game. It came out when I was finishing up high school, and it was kind of a kids' thing.
1. Probably the catching/team-building part of the game. I'm partial to getting 100% in game pokemon, but I'm to lazy to trade for the complete pokedex. I also like perfectly balancing my team to find the right pokemon to complement each other.

3. I'm not sure what my absolute favorite type is, but my top 3 are Dark, Electric, and Steel.
4. I'm not sure. If put on the spot Thunderbolt, but I remember there is a dark/ghost type move that I had on a play-through of B/W a while back that I loved. I just can't remember what it was.
5. A)What's his name from Pokemon Colosseum.
B)I'm a fan of the trio from the first gym in B/W, largely because I thought that the gym changing based on your starter was a cool idea.
C)N if he counts, otherwise Silver
D)Team Plasma, mainly because their plans seem very well thought out, particularly considering that they very nearly probably come closer to actually achieving their goals than any other organization. If you ignore the obvious "kick-the-dog moment" that goes on early in the game which exists solely to clarify the morality of the organization, they become much more complex, and you begin to ask yourself "wait, is what I'm doing even right, considering that I'm basically participating in a cross-country dog-fighting tour?". Ghetis is also a particularly cunning b@$%@^& considering that he succeeds in manipulating pretty much everybody, and only loses because he did his job brainwashing N to well.
E)Cynthia
6. Say what you like about Lugia, but I always thought that Ho-Oh was better. STAB Sacred Fire was always awesome.
7. Tropious. It wasn't even that it was bad, but that it didn't really seem to serve a purpose. Bad pokemon at least act as a point of comparison for good pokemon, and some are pokemon are there to satisfy collector types, and some are there just to be cool. Tropious doesn't do any of those things in Gen 3.
8. We need to finish off the Eeveelutions. I'd also like to add that I prefer fewer alternative evolutions to more, as the more you have, the less special they become.

Pokemon is not a 'world' game, the world is largely irrelevant other than plot and the pokemans you can find. While I still see the appeal of the gametype/play, I find it to be incredibly flawed in every other aspect. I do applaud any pathetic efforts made to advance the genre.
