So now that Pokemon Black and White have seen both American and European releases, I'm wondering if there's anybody out there who still has the urge to try and catch every last Pokemon. Also, I'd like to know if it's even possible anymore (without glitching the game)A, for example, previous gen starters have always been a hassle to try and obtain. How is one supposed to get Squirtle, Bulbasaur or Charmander in Black or White? Add to that the sheer number of Pokemon now and catching them all seems to me a collosall task.

As for me, I'll catch as many as I can in game, and possibly trade version exclusives with a few of my friends who have Black. I may even pick up Heart gold or Soul Silver for some of my favourite gen 2 Pokemon (Azumarill and Ampharos... Don't judge...). But I don't see myself striving for a 100% complete Pokedex.

Considering that I have almost all 493 on my Pearl version (all I'm missing are evolutions of base forms that I have in boxes) I'm pretty sure that it is quite simple to obtain all of them legitimately.

You haven't kept up with the series since release, have you?

I caught all 151 in Yellow, that's good enough for me.
I caught all 152 in the original Red.
[small]I'm talking about "IT" of course....[/small]

Last I played was Gold on my good old Gameboy Colour!
Seems to me you got it good, but is completing all the previous games in the series the only way? I suppose if I REALLY wanted them enough it could be done, although that would mean having to find a copy of emerald/ruby/saphire, trade them all from gen to gen until finally we get to gen 5. Not so bad for someone like you who's kept up, but for people like me... man that's a daunting task. Kudos to you for all your hard work though!

I've got 420 on Heart Gold, so I'm gonna have a relatively easy time thanks to knowing people who have what I need.

I've got 431 on SoulSilver. I'll be able to catch almost all of them in White. I'll be missing Darkrai, Arceus, Deoxys, and a few other legendaries, but not that many.

I've never filled out a Pokedex. I don't think it is likely I'll be filling one now that I'm playing less and working more.

I've never played a Pokemon game, mainly because, I'm 12 years older than the max age.

No. because after looking up the new pokemon i had to cry a little bit. Not only are they tacky, they seem to just be filling in all the first generations archetypes. For example, the one that really got to me was a bin-bag pokemon, who was clearly just an imitation of grimer. To make it worse, it evolves into a larger bin-bag pokemon (muk).

This isnt the only one. They just seem to have come up with new skins for the previous generations.

Ok, they might have done it in previous titles as well, but this time it just strikes me as very "in-your-face"... Maybe its just me xD

Its mainly the black/white exclusive's I need to worry about, I think I have the majority of pokemon on my Diamond save.

Eh, no, I will not be trying to catch them all. At this point in time it'd be a MONUMENTAL task for me. I've played and beaten each original pokemon game at least once.. well, i know i've beaten a red, a gold, and a pearl. I'm faily sure i've beaten saphire, but.. I'm drawing a blank on it.. I'm sure i beat it... LOL.

(I haven't beaten the remakes, like fire red or soul silver, i have them... but haven't beaten them.)

So, since i haven't really played the remakes, and have really only beaten pearl as far as DS games go, and am pretty sure i've let my younger sibblings reuse my old games, thus losing what pokemon i had, not that i could have traded them anyways... no, at this stage in the game, i'll not be catching them all.

But i plan on beating Black/White, and my intrest is pokemon in general is up, so i may get around to accually playing the remakes, but, the work it'd take to get them all, not to mention rares i doubt i'd ever be able to get... no.

But alot. I'll prolly end up with alot. heh.

No. While my Pokedex is 488 in Diamond, it wasn't an honest capture (I traded and return with my mate Pokémon who had hack Pokémon?s like Celebi) but the game reward me the certificate anyway.
Also in Black and White the maximum storages is 8 which is less compare to the past game storages (18). This mean it will be very hard to store the Pokémon?s anyway so to me it not worth completing the Pokedex.

Well, considering that this pokemon will cease to be available if you don't get it in a nintendo promotion before March 31st....

I'm gonna go with no. >_>

Give me a year and I'll have stopped, then continued playing my Black Version three times over. I want to fill my Pokedex at least once (I've played a game from each generation and have never done it), so Gen. V might be it.
