I fully expect meltdowns if it's revealed the game doesn't have voice actingYoshi178 said:How so?PapaGreg096 said:Well that was underwhelming for a Switch Title
people wanted a new core Pokemon RPG game. BAM! you got one.
i don't see what else you were expecting from this?
Why in the name of God would anybody want to hear any of a Pok?mon game's dialogue out loud?Aiddon said:I fully expect meltdowns if it's revealed the game doesn't have voice actingYoshi178 said:How so?PapaGreg096 said:Well that was underwhelming for a Switch Title

Eh I would't say major, more polished sure but honestly compared to other Switch games I'm a bit disappointedundeadsuitor said:Does it though? While it certainly looks like a slight evolution of Pokemon let's go, which was an improvement over sun and moon, looking between sword/shield and sun/moon is a major improvement.PapaGreg096 said:Maybe something that doesn't look like a 3DS gameYoshi178 said:How so?PapaGreg096 said:Well that was underwhelming for a Switch Title

Major characters and gym leaders should have voices. Keep the protagonist silent though.SupahEwok said:Why in the name of God would anybody want to hear any of a Pok?mon game's dialogue out loud?Aiddon said:I fully expect meltdowns if it's revealed the game doesn't have voice actingYoshi178 said:How so?PapaGreg096 said:Well that was underwhelming for a Switch Title

People wanted a huge region to travel in for a console pokemon game. This region kinda looks like a corridor.Yoshi178 said:How so?PapaGreg096 said:Well that was underwhelming for a Switch Title

People wanted a completely different game you mean. not a Pokemon game.Marik2 said:People wanted a huge region to travel in for a console pokemon game. This region kinda looks like a corridor.Yoshi178 said:How so?PapaGreg096 said:Well that was underwhelming for a Switch Title

There tend to be larger leaps with certain franchises as opposed to others. Zelda and Maro are ironically more likely to be experimental thank Pok?mon.undeadsuitor said:I can kind of see where they're coming from. This is the first main series pokemon game on an actual console and not a handheld (though Switch is somewhere in the middle in terms of computing power so its not quite a huge leap) so it makes sense to expect something "bigger" from the game. But that's not how Nintendo works. They're a company of minor and consistent improvement, not one of massive leaps.
I feel as if Mario does a lot more than Pokemon on that count and even then its not like Pokemon never experiment with new ideas, Pokemon Colosseum is a lot more interesting than Shield and Sword and that game came out over a decade ago.undeadsuitor said:Zelda has certainly had some interesting inclusions (I think BoTW is probably the biggest leap after the jump to 3d in OoT) but Pokemon and Mario both share the same sort of "and this time we have a new idea: the game" where outside of improvements like a jump to 3D, each game usually has one new mechanic to test out whether it be a hydrant backpack or an digivelution stone.Something Amyss said:There tend to be larger leaps with certain franchises as opposed to others. or apricorns i guess. remember apricorns?
I dunno, I just see the qay the cap mechanics work in SMO as something significantly different. Even FLUDD didn't alter Mario quite so much from what I've seen, outside of speedrun glitches, but the alterations to the way you use Mario seem pretty major to me, even if they aren't kept. I mean, there's rarely any guarantee anything will be kept between generations, but very little touches the core gameplay of a Pok?mon game. You get apricorns to craft or a treehouse or a way to pet your pok?s, but so far the big game changers have largely been the infrequent addition of new types to alter the core balanceundeadsuitor said:Zelda has certainly had some interesting inclusions (I think BoTW is probably the biggest leap after the jump to 3d in OoT) but Pokemon and Mario both share the same sort of "and this time we have a new idea: the game" where outside of improvements like a jump to 3D, each game usually has one new mechanic to test out whether it be a hydrant backpack or an digivelution stone.

I'm not asking for an open world pokemon game. I just want a bigger interconnected region like Kalos and Sinnoh on console.Yoshi178 said:People wanted a completely different game you mean. not a Pokemon game.Marik2 said:People wanted a huge region to travel in for a console pokemon game. Pokemon was never an open world game. go play RDR2 if you want open world.
