As for me, I don't really EV train, because I don't know exactly how. Which only makes people get even MORE ticked off at me because of the fact that my Piplup started out infected with the Pokérus at the start of my Platinum game, which is about a 1-in-64,000 chance...
It's not a 1 in 64,000 chance. That's 8 times the chance of a shiny pokemon.

In earlier games (Gold, Silver), it was there was an extremely low chance of getting the 'rus, but in the 4th Generation it's been increased a lot. I got it twice in the 4th Gen.

I EV train my newest additions to my team (Gyarados, Garchomp, Glaceon) but my other 3, I just played the game.

Considering EV training takes about 15 minutes if you do it right, I EV train every one of my Pokemon.

All 493 sitting in the box in my Diamond cartridge are EV trained. ^_^

Yes, one of every Pokemon, all level 100, all ready for battle.

Don't look at me like that.
For starters, I'm not sure you can actually fit 493 Pokemon in the boxes, maybe you can, I can't say for certain. But however, why the heck would you keep and Cyndaquil, a Quilava and a Typhlosion, rather than just a single Typhlosion? Because you just said you had ALL 493 ready for battle. :p
You can fit them all in the boxes.

And why? Because I was really bored. Yes, all 493 are in there.

You're my hero.

I didn't even know what it was until a minute ago, so I might have unintentionally been doing it, but yeah.

Thanks, I guess. ^_^

And everyone does do it, just not efficiently or concentrated. IIRC every Pokemon gives off EVs, so beating any of them means you are gaining EVs.

That begs the question-did you legitimately get Arceus?
Because I have all 493 (Not all at 100), but I had to use a friend's action replay to get an Arceus, which pisses me off, because I want one for real. :(

I always say I'm going to do it but when I play pokemon I get the IQ and attention span of a 4 year old and don't know where and If I do I can't be bothered doing it

Well, I consider hacking the item required to get the one in game still legit, as the only real Arceus you can get come at level 100, and they cannot be EV trained fully at that point. I hacked in the item to get it at level 80.

Yeah, that's what I did, also.
I still want an event for the item, though, and not a Jirachi.

We can always hope that there will someday be one. There certainly should, I mean, why program it into the game if you aren't going to release it?

EV training is the bullshit that made me lose interest in Pokemon, that and slower battle animations.

Due to the existence of Shoddy Battle, battling other players on consoles has become really redundant and so there is little point in EV training.

I know of it, but I don't utilise it even despite being a hardcore fan. The simple reason is that it blags, is complicated and I only know one other person who's a series fan (always get the opposite games) and he doesn't do it either, so there's really not much point.

I EV train, I've just started breeding and nature training. But I keep forgeting all the specifics. What I need is a good site that has all the hotspots for each stat, and what each nature does. I will never IV train, because that takes nothing but luck, and my luck is terrible.

I EV trained, and nature bred, when I was a proper competitive battler. Now I just stick to ShoddyBattle, because I'm lazy.

GameFAQs, Smogon, and Serebii should be your friends here.

I'd rather pick strategic pokemon and moves than grind for hours on end for EVs/IVs. Levels I'll do, but not EVs and IVs because you have to really keep track of them, and you have to fight the same pokemon over and over.

I EV train but i'm having a bit of a problem right now, maybe someone here can help me with it,

Right now i'm training an arbok with a sassy nature, a weavile with a lonely nature, and rhyperior with a brave nature, all with EXP shares, none are my active,

Arbok LV'd up first and got 4ATK points when he should have got 14ATK(i'm fighting kricketunes BTW)

so does anyone know why?
