I agree with what was said above: If the plagiarizers are in China, then only thing Nintendo can do is have the game taken down from any store based out of Japan and most western nations. China is a wasteland when it comes to copyright, where any original IP
will be copied without consequence. I even heard of people at CES this year seeing their own designs, that have barely made a public appearance, being shown as ripoffs a few booths over from their own.
Though, I don't mind anything that draws Nintendo's legal attention away from Youtube. Then again, a thing like this might put them in a a state of paranoia where they see anything featuring an Italian plumber as an infringement on their copyrights.

Why would pokemon fans care?
Also don't japan kinda lack copyright laws?
They won't get sued.
I don't know why Pokemon fans would really care. (They seem to be one of the more civil fanbases out there.)
I do know Japan has plenty of copyright laws. They just started seriously cracking down on anime piracy a few months ago, with some heavy punishments. Nintendo's lawyers, in and out of Japan, are probably furious they can't pick apart these guys, if they're in China or some other country that laughs at copyright requests.
