"You the Boss..." Dante said before he Used Ethereal Form disappeared from view.

"I'll move it!" Skrag said confidently, staring at the boulder with a tenacious grin, and lowering his head ready for a headbutt.
"Gavin, Beldum, you reckon you could give me a hand with some psychic lifting?" He asked, before charging. The boulder was nudged, but he knew it would need more effort toe truly shift.

As Demry vaulted headlong into the boulder-centered clearing, an alarm sounded all around the group and a Poke'Net landed on everyone but Demry, who instead was bashed on the head by a suddenly materializing man in a black outfit, holding a giant hammer. Another woman appeared from around a tree, clad in a black outfit as well, with her eyes and long red ponytail sticking out the back
"Ah, James! We have made our first capture! We can join Team Rocket now, and those brats don't have anything they can say to keep us out!" She said this in a slightly more hysterical voice than a hyena.
"Hmmm, yes Jessi(e?) we have everything we need to join their ranks,"He, of course, said this in a very posh, self-congratulatory tone of voice, "We have some rare Pokemon here, look here's a Spheal..."
Jessi(e?) flicked a button on her wrist and the Pokemon almost instantly fell asleep, except for Dante, who had managed to go Ethereal before the group had been captured
Dante followed the other Pokemon and the Team Rocket rookies to a small shack in the center of the woods, a decrepit old place, glass windows cracked, shingles missing out of the roof, a door hanging on by a hinge. The two thieves skipped along happily, smiles wide and eyes closed, and slammed into both walls beside the doors.
After a very short recovery period(around fifteen minutes), they managed to get up, open the door, close the door and that was all that Dante could see from where he floated. He would have to go inside to find out more.
The rest of the Pokemon woke up in cages, each apparently specially made to block and absorb their abilities. Gavin and Beldum were crammed into one, while the rest each had their own cell to reflect in.
Outside of their cages was a brightly lit room, no windows, one ladder against the far wall(about ten meters away), and the two klutz's asleep on a trampoline in the corner. A single Pokemon walked around the square room, possibly keeping guard, or your savior?
They're much younger though, with no "R" symbol on them. Think around Brock's age I s'pose

(The cages look like your everyday cat cages, quite a bit bigger however. You can still use your Normal,metal,rock, and ground moves, but your type moves will not work.And just so you know Dante, your move Hypnosis will not have any effect here. Not trying to nerf you, but that is this guy's specialty.)

Oh god I hate these guys... He thought, remembering a gang fight between some of his Friends and some physic-types from Saffron.
He got as close as he could in order to ease-drop on the Members.
Demry woke up saying 'Since when to boulders fight, back my hea..well my entire body aches' demry then realized that everyone was in cages and that their was a pokemon standing in front of the cages 'May I inquirer to why we are in cages as I understand it the usual capturing malarkey is done with those ball things that smack you in the head not by rocks that fight back and cages'
'Not good. Not good.' Gavin thought, panicked. They were trapped and moved somewhere else. How far away and how long they had been out were unknown. Worse, his psychic abilities were nullified. Someone had caught them, someone who knew what they were doing. "Is anyone else awake?" Gavin asked, quietly.

I finished typing it up, clicked post and the first thing I saw was, 'Dante went Ethereal'. and I was like.... damn. And I made the mistake of googling shingles in third grade when I had to do a report on roofing techniques, I was halfway through an article before I realized they weren't talking about roofs.Diablo1099 said:

the Hypno glared back through the bars staring at Demry. His answer came in a soothing and ethereal voice.
"My pets are inept and very low of cash, these cages are much less expensive and make you so much easier to reach."
He took a small coin he wore around his neck on a thread and held it up against the cage, you begin to follow the coin, back and forth, back and forth, and before you know it, you begin lifting your head when he instructs you too, with you having no control of your muscles. However, you are strong enough of will that you snap yourself out it. He seems both pleased and depressed over this change in events.
"Good, good, you are a promising one, yes you are."
While he takes a clipboard off a nearby table and makes a few notes on it, you notice that he has two pokeballs clipped to a belt around his waist.
Demry was getting confused 'first using rocks and cages to catch pokemon and then, pokemon referring to people as pets, please someone tell me what is going on, or has up always been down and black always been white, and why is that coin so damn interesting to look at.'
The Hypno suddenly looked up from his scratchings because of a new presence in the room, however, seeing nothing, he decided that he had imagined it and turned back to Demry.

I'll move onto your friends soon, anyone who fails the test will be given to these two clowns so that they can get up in rank so that I can bring new test subjects."

Gavin could sense something else, something near his cell. Though his powers were weakened, he was able to pick up that much. 'Dante.' He thought. That was good, if the gastly could free him, they might be able to defeat the hypno. Gavin was fairly certain that the hypno was more powerful than either of them, but perhaps they could overpower it together, all together. If he could hold off the hypno long enough for Dante to free the others, perhaps they could stop it.
Demry wasn't happy about being picked as a test subject, 'I won't make a good test subject, I have stumps instead of arms, they can't push buttons, lift boxes or anything of use beyond helping me move. If you want test subjects just go into a cave and get zubats, they practically hurtle themselves at you' Demry was starting to panic, he start slamming against the sides of his cage with body slam, 'I have previous arrangement's, pokemon I got to see, places I have got to go. People will notice me missing!'
"The reason you are a subject is not your stumps, but your mind, Zubats are notorious for their weak will. I have a dream of uniting all Pokemon and humans underneath one banner, a banner of unity,equality, and cooperation," The Hypno began to grow enraged as he went on,(not the move),"A world free of submission,ownership, and-... What was that?" He turned to the slowly opening cage holding Gavin and Beldum that had just squeeked(it was cheap after all)

He walked over to the cage and touched it, his eyes closing and reaching out with his mind,"Ahhh, a Ghost-type, you really are skilled, you know, perhaps you should...SHOW YOURSELF!"
Hypno used Psybeam, forcing Dante out of the cage, forcing him to become visible, and stunning him for a few seconds.
"Hmmmm, you look familiar. Who are you?"
He left the cage door open, allowing Beldum and Gavin out, fully confident of his own abilities.Meanwhile Demry's frantic slamming against the cage walls forced it to fall off onto the floor, breaking apart, allowing Demry full use of his moves and abilities.
"What have we here, two Psychics that are powerful enough to use Telekinesis despite their abilities being weakened?" the Hypno mused, "No, no, you have not come into your power yet, not that."
He walked over to the cage and touched it, his eyes closing and reaching out with his mind,"Ahhh, a Ghost-type, you really are skilled, you know, perhaps you should...SHOW YOURSELF!"
Hypno used Psybeam, forcing Dante out of the cage, forcing him to become visible, and stunning him for a few seconds.
"Hmmmm, you look familiar. Who are you?"
He left the cage door open, allowing Beldum and Gavin out, fully confident of his own abilities.Meanwhile Demry's frantic slamming against the cage walls forced it to fall off onto the floor, breaking apart, allowing Demry full use of his moves and abilities.

Ok, we have a battle shaping up here, now the rules I've written up give you ten hitpoints per level, you go under 0, you become unconscious, go to negative whatever you started from and you die or are severely injured, depending on the circumstances. Super-effective moves do 2x damage, not very effective do half. SE moves also have a small chance to stun, which in this case, Dante is now stunned and unable to do anything this round, NVE moves have a small chance of healing a very small amount (no more than 20 points or less), which again, depends on the situation
I will put the number stuff in spoiler boxes at the end of every post I do, I will take into account every player's action for that turn, every player will have one post to explain what they do, use the name of the move you will use and describe what your attempted action will be if it should succeed.
I'm going to leave this up until the morning here or until everyone have posted, whichever comes first. If you do not post by the time I check this in the morning, you forfeit that turn to admiring the butterflies, or simply noticing you have a new growth on your back.
From now on, I will post if I expect you guys to have a battle that day, to give you fair warning and ensure you have a substantial amount of time before you guys are limited by time.

Gavin took advantage of the opportunity, getting out of the cage as quickly and stealthily as possible. Hypno wasn't paying attention to them, Demry was now in action, or would be in a moment. He couldn't match the hypno for power, that much was obvious, but he didn't need to, if he distracted it long enough for the others to finish it off, then that would be that. Gavin focused on hypno and launched into a confusion attack. This would be a difficult psychic battle.
Ignis awakes in his oddly warm cage to a loud crash, and the chaotic scene before him. Panicked he tries to escape ramming and pecking the cage to no effect; and he quickly realizes he can't breathe fire. He notices the imposing Hypno with his back turned to him facing the others.
In one last vain of hope he presses his face against the grate of the cage and tries to use ember on it!

Since my beak is outside the cage I'm assuming I can now use my fire attacks, since you did state theses cages were cheap and the track record (?) of the two sleeping on the trampoline. And if not you could at least humor me and have me blow smoke or something.
And two last things:
First, based on the way I've been writing him I been thinking I should amend his personality a little to fit how I have been writing him better. And I'm not sure I should/aloud too.
Second, I know this a bit (or likely very) late to ask, but do our pokeballs have any significance or not? Since we are owned by another trainer why were we worried about being caught by the kids earlier? Or have they been rendered useless? If they are still function, then based off very rough memory of the show (which I haven't seen in god knows how long and this statement could be completely wrong or pointless) an episode with a ninetails showed that pokemon are drawn or somehow connected to them or have some sort of trouble getting too far away from them, would this be in any way relevant?
