My old golden eye player's guide was more useful than this piece of rubbish. HELL i would have just borrowed my cousin's old crystal player's guide but it would not have been up to date. The guide only tells me the johto region leaves out the breeding help guide and completely leaves out kanto without a single mention. It says i have to trade suicune from another game.

GAAAAHHHHHH!!!! IT WAS THE SINGLE GREATEST WASTE OF MONEY I HAVE EVER FUCKING SPENT *breathes heavily for a second* Ok escapist can i get some help? Is their going to be another more COMPETENT players guide coming out. or anything about breeding like how pokemon get moves through eggs and can u breed the first pokemon u get?

There usually is, but Pokemon has a strange fascination with making all of their players suffer with incomplete guides.

I would give it a month.

Use a good pokemon site, like Bulbapedia or Serebii.net. Don't ever trust the official players' guides, especially those made by Prima. They make stupid mistakes and are rubbbish.

I had a Lost Odyssey guide which told you it'll get you all of the achievements and everything in the game.

It missed out about 5? sections of the game, thus you miss about 10 - 20 treasures and items, so it lied. I complained to Prima and they told me to return the guide to the store I got it for, for a full refund.

Bulbapedia has all answers to your questions even ones you haven't asked yet. Still waiting for the DSiXL to come out.

Came here to say this. I didn't realise people still bought those things since the internet was invented :|

Fair enough. It is sometimes more useful to have one of the store bought guides. They have the pretty pictures and all. Unlike the wall of text that is gamefaqs.

It sucks that it wasn't up to your standards. People just don't put the effort in anymore when they know it's a guaranteed seller.

Worst Guide ever was the Final Fantasy Tactics ULTIMATE Guide.

I bought it for like 25 bucks, and it sucked.

Yea i've used gamefaqs for quite a few games but i've found the walls of text annoying. The reason i wanted a guide for pokemon SS was because google wasn't being very much help and neither was gamefaqs.

Yeah, my friend found this out after he bought the guide. They usually suck.

This is why I use Serebii.net [http://Serebii.net] for my Pokemon information. If it told me where to find the damn TMs, however ,it'd be complete...

You should always search "teh interwebz". You can't expect to find an internet guide for something that hasn't been out more than one month, it takes time to play the game and write a guide, I don't use Gamefaq, exactly but whatever I find useful (and sometimes it comes from gamefaq)

Bulbapedia has information on everything. Look there.

The Platinum guide book was good, and the original S/G was good too. The problem with the HG/SS book is that if you notice on the side, it says something that many people will overlook, "Volume 1"

It seems that companies are going to start following the EA trend and re-release the same thing or things in parts so they can siphon your money from you. Thankfully I work at Blockbuster and can just read ours at work, but I won't buy it unless it was dirt cheap because they pulled this shit. All they did was cut the book in half and sell each at the price of the game itself, making you pay twice the DS price for the help that you could get online

Prima guides insist they get the game info about a year before the game goes gold. As a result, developers don't give them all the info and things get changed. Get the guide for the pictures, but not for the info.
Double-jump makes a good guide thou.

Guides are garbage, and they have no reason to have any quality at all with things like gamefaqs out, there's no point trying to sell this stuff when anyone can get it for free at any time. Just go to gamefaqs.

Yeah, I know. For some reason, though, I'm not a fan of Bulbapedia's interface. And from what I read on individual pages, Pokemon info on Bulbapedia is lacking when compared to Serebii's database.

I actually bought the guide thing for Silver/Gold that gave all the move sets of the pokemon and where to catch them by route. Freakin' awesome that thing was and it had some basic extra articles captioned in a couple pages. It was pretty good and I liked using it.

But yeah, go on Serebii.net and call it a day.
