Personally, I love Pokémon, and I get made fun of for it all the time. Why is it considered so gay? What's the big deal?

-EDIT- I love the old episodes of the anime, and hate the new ones. In the and ones, the feral Pokemon were fierce, and the characters were humorous and well characterized. They have been boiled down to sugar-coated crap. The old ones were awesome.
And as for those who think it is nothing but dog fighting - watch the first episodes of the anime. The trainers and their Pokemon grow to become great friends, and become more powerful in unison in order to try to become the best trainer & Pokemon in the world / NOT pointless evil fighting. THAT'S IT!!

I don't know. Maybe its considered nerdy and childish?

I like Pokemon. I'm re-playing Gold right now.

*Raises hand* I... Liked Pokemon..
Not now, mind you, just because I haven't kept up with it. I was addicted as a kid though.

And don't mind those people then. It's all a matter of opinion.

It's the same game over and over again. If you like that sort of thing it's your deal but I would prefer it if they didn't make 100 new Pokemon each game.

Also it's considered gay because I'm guessing you live in America. Men liking generally cute things, you put it together.
Thankfully, my school doesn't contain a lot of criticism as it is located in the uncanny valley.

Yeah, it's almost like 2/3 or more of the people there aren't entirely human.

Although my friends are great enough to insult me.

probably the same reason video games are considered nerdy. a sterotype.i bet half the people who make fun of you would have fun with pokemon anyway.

Pokemon is the shit. The next time someone tells you it's "gay", backhand them and tell them not to talk back to you.

Although admittedly, this latest (fifth?) generation is kind of uninspired and... terrible. But that always happens when you try to milk a good thing for every last penny.

By that logic, you should never play more than one game of each genre, as to do so is to essentially play the same game over and over.

That's why my friend's friend honestly thought I was gay.
I live in South Carolina, however, so I get chastised by everyone (see my Kilt poll)

Ironically I can name most and give massive amounts of info from just a picture.

People I know say pokemon is gay which sucks because that means I can't battle people anymore.

I love it. There's something about enslaving wild animals and making them fight for your amusement that appeals to the human race, I think.

I liked it, and I do not ridicule the people who still like it...

I have no idea whats wrong with it, I still like a number of cartoons which I should have moved on from, Pokemon just didn't keep me interested all the way up to age 20...

I dunno.
I've seen a bunch of information about the latest one coming out (Gold/Silver remakes) and not only am I looking forward to it, but it seems like they have improved on it in many ways; but that's just me.

I made my brother buy me Pokemon Platinum for my 20th birthday and I fully intend to get the remade version of Gold/Silver. I suspect my brother will as well although it's unlikely he'd admit it to anyone but me.

It's seen as kind of childish but so are a lot of the other things I enjoy doing and my life would be really dull if I only did what was expected of me.

I liked pokemon. For me, the game just got a little repetitive and gimicky as the generations kept coming. For everyone else, it's always fun to bash the popular stuff (halo, pokemon, video games in general).

It makes sense, though. There is more intellegence or dexterity in the AVERAGE gamer's thumb than there is in the AVERAGE sportsman's whole body. Intellegent things are never popular (unless your name is Albert Einstein and you helped create the world's coolest explosion machine). If you are a gamer and a sports player, well then you just get the best of both worlds, don'tcha?
I like it the most because no matter how much you study it, there are still ways to improve any team, and there is a massive amount of tactic and intelligence required to be truely good at it, and I'm glad that they keep coming out with more, since that allows for more strategic combinations, though I don't watch the NEW cartoons. (I still like some of the old ones)

I'd say its wrong because these things, while they can kill you, are too cute to be threatening. Scratch that, these things are just too cute.
