I have always loved the pokemon games (until D/P). Although if they could just make the game more complex and maybe fuse all the regions together It would be much cooler.

The game: nothing, it's a great strategy/collection/trainer/RPG and it's even link-cable-able. Have fun and don't feel any shame.
The anime: Because it is a twisted childish version of the great anime it once was back near season 1. Remember season 1? With feral pokemon so fierce they pecked Ash nearly to blood, what happened to those pokemon? Case in point, Pokemon Anime is BAD! Shame on you.

i think probably cos the anime is so silly and childish people assume the game to be just for kids too, but the fact is pokemon is an awesome game and screw whoever says otherwise 
I never managed to full get into any of the games, but I do think the premise behind them is fairly solid and I like a lot of the pokemon designs. However, the later editions get progressively more absurd and the anime series is quite bland. Movies are OK, at least the 2-3 I've seen.
I've never met a gamer in my life that could deny the delights of Pokemon. Whether fullblown Pokemaniac, or just a casual fan with fond memories of Red/Blue/Yellow, they've all had something good to say about the series.
In my experience, the people that criticize the series are the same kind of people who'd be ashamed to admit they game in the first place.

There are those people that like it... and then you get those other people... the ones that think it is childish and are too scared or too "cool" to play it... kind of like the whole watching cartoons thing... people hit the age where they are too old for it, then they hit the age where they don't care... I don't see anything wrong with being 18 and watching Spongebob (seems to be the only decent cartoon left on TV now days)... even my dad watched it...

oh come on Pokemon is rediculous, its for little children. that is why you get made fun of. Its childish nonsense, with a bad story to boot. you lose braincells when you watch the show... its a scientific fact!

I love pokemon
it's great fun and with wi-fi play it has become incredibly competitive
building a good team takes a lot of time and effort. Me and my friends all play together and we have a good time.
Don't believe these assholes that tell you its gay, they're wrong, I guess thier opinion stems from the fact that they would have played them when they were young and it seems so old and worn out to them now, considering they haven't followed it all the way.
and the 4th generation is very good, I'll agree that there are some very bad pokemon but some huge powerhouses were added to the games. Each game, whilst not necessairily adding any new pokemon just tweak the game and useful introductions. Personally I cannot wait for HG/SS as the 2nd gen was for me a hge step, what with being able to go back through kanto and everything, just reliving that will be enough for me.

i have very little tolerance of people who make fun of me for playing it. especially since they only ever make fun of it in front of their friends. it's just a method of showing off for them.
i don't believe that there is anything wrong with it at all. it is one of the best rpgs i have ever played, and it just happens to have a somewhat childish style.

If they didn't, wouldn't it be MORE of the same game over and over again? You could argue that Final Fantasy is the same game over and over again, but with new characters.Gerazzi said:
