Completely fine with me. I mean this has happened before and what if something happened if the Police didnt use spray. Then they would be yelled at for not doing so. I say better safe then sorry
Pepper spray his mother too, for being a spineless parentZetion said:Spineless mom, and the kid would benefit from some old school parenting.
And by that I mean an ass-beating.
No offense, but I think that's a very idiotic statement. The whole point of pepper spray is so that they don't have to use lethal force. If the situation calls for lethal force, they have a gun for that, which is a lot more likely to stop someone than pepper spray.dagens24 said:I think it's excessive force. Pepper spray can be leathal if the person has an allergic reaction to it. I don't think you should use it in a situation that doesn't call for leathal force. Same with tasers.
From TFA, "He had ripped molding from the wall and tossed chairs and a TV cart around the classroom. He had grabbed a stick and chased his teachers into the office, where they locked themselves in... At one point, police allege, he warned his teachers "If you come out, you're gonna die""flare09 said:Wanting to and being able to are very far apart.HG131 said:He wanted to, and he said he wanted to find something sharp. I think pepper spray is fine in this situation since parenting obviously has failed. But he wasn't going to kill anyone.
What would have been an appropriate level of force?dagens24 said:I think it's excessive force. Pepper spray can be leathal if the person has an allergic reaction to it. I don't think you should use it in a situation that doesn't call for leathal force. Same with tasers.
You know that police have GUNS right? If they need lethal force, they can just fucking shoot you, they don't need a taser or pepper spray. The reason that police have those is for when they need to use NONLETHAL countermeasures.dagens24 said:I think it's excessive force. Remember, teachers aren't allowed to so much as TOUCH a child without a lawsuit anymore. I'm sure they could have easily taken him, but they chose to call the police instead, because that's protocol and it takes responsibility from the school district for any injuries that the child may sustain.Eldarion said:A pair of teachers trained to deal with troubled students overpowered by an 8 year old?
I call shenanigans.
