So career and hobbies killed for 50,000? Hmmm, I'll pass. Would be like taking money to never be able to see a non-recent film again and wanting to be a scriptwriter/director....even from a purely academic perspective, not a wise choice.

Sure, I'll take the money. In a couple months. After I've finished playing most of the good retro games.

I personally dislike what you're intentions are in making these topics.

They are hugely unnecessary, and they are just going to insight huge flame wars between the retro gamers (like myself), and the modern gamers of this forum. Causing a rift between these two parties isn't exactly the wises thing to do.

Oh, and the Gamecube is not retro by the way.
OP didn't call GC retro.

There's no rift caused, it's simply asking, how much is playing your older games worth to you?

To me it's worth more than $50,000.00 as it is to you.

For others it isn't.

Even if the retro game in question was on par with the second coming of Christ I'd give it up for 50 thousand pounds. (That's about a million dollars right?)

No thank you. I mainly play "retro" games anyway (GoG and Steam are awesome), so I'd be losing a looooot of games if I accepted this deal.

No thank you. I still want to play the Sims 1 and one of these days I want to play Jagged Alliance 2 and X-Com: UFO Defense. :p

Sorry, mate.

I like my Serious Sam a little too much to consider ever giving it up.

Thats enough money that i would probably be willing to take, I do play retro games, but honestly there is plenty of good content in modern games to keep me entertained.

Done. They were fun at the time, but the only thing that makes me play retro games now is nostalgia. And then I remember why I don't play those games regularly any more.

i'd agree to that anyday, once a console generation is over or a pc game is more than a few years old it makes my eyes blead and the ui makes me want to punch the developer because i'm spoiled by all the shiny new super slick options in the newer games

there are a few old classics, for sure and i'd play them but certainly not if you paid me not to..

I, only play games of this generation. The oldest game I have installed on my PC is Neverwinter Nights, and I really don't play that often.
Done deal.
