Minecraft isn't retro, it's a modern game with stylized graphics, like TF2.

Although it would hurt to not be able to play Diablo 2 or Neverwinter Nights... I can get by on Diablo 3.

If I can play anything on those platforms I'd take the money, but If it would require me to quit every game which is trying to be retro ie. pixelated graphics, then no way.

My friend only plays ps2 and gamecube and has timesplitters 2 so no besides i barely have any games for my ps3

Apparently, the first Nintendo DS, as opposed to the 3DS, is considered "retro" here, according to the OP, so I'd say "Screw you and your history-killing money". Seriously, I see no reason to own a 3DS yet except Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, and going on Capcom's recent actions, I'm worried about that game's future. (If it goes up in vaporware, the next portable thing I'm getting might just be the DSi.)

There's a few titles I'd miss. But nothing worth 50,000 pounds. That's a lot of money, especially given current exchange rates.

Besides, all those games I'd miss? They're getting, or have already got, current gen re-releases.

some of you may have seen the "£500 to never play atari again" thread, well let's kick it up a notch! i will give you £50,000 ($81,400) to never play ANTTHING that came befoe this geneation! so you can only play Wii, 3DS, PS3, PSP, XBox360, MODERN PC Games and anything that follows, sound good?

for me it's absolutely no frickin' way! give me a million pounds and i'd say no, i can't not play N64 or Gamecube anymore

tough call. I think i would take the money, but giving up my pokemon crystal(best one ever made) and my Monster Rancher, and my Tenchu Wrath of heaven, and my Rachet and Clank: Going Commando would hurt. I would def take the money, but it would hurt.

Hmmmm. If it only applied to consoles, easy. I don't even own a current (or last, or the one before that) gen console. But it includes PC games so....

I suppose it depends on the definition of "retro" and any other terms in this "contract." For example, do I get to keep my current stuff, and anything I get in the future, forever? How about active remakes of older games (such as the Privateer remake running on the Vega Strike engine, or various source ports of DOOM and Duke3D)?

Still, it's a lot of money. Hmm.

What about remakes (God of War Collection, MGS Collection etc.) count, because I believe I would have a hard time never being able to play MGS3 again.

Depends. By retro, do you mean by age of the product or art style?
If by age, then fine. If by art style, that'd mean no more Cthulu Saves the World, no more Cave Story, etc.
If by age, I'd gladly take the money though.

I can give up Atari games easily. But from the SNES/Genesis era on, I fecking can't. Especially not PS/PS2 games. Nope, $81,000 is not a large enough sum of money for me. $150,000 would be though.
