I was expecting the game too, this being the escapist and I was hoping for a discussion as to the game's quality. Well, since you didn't ask:
Personally, I liked the game when it came out, but by God, it's aged horribly. It's a testament to how far games have come that it sucks so much by comparison.

IMO, the movie was the best of the Brosnan-era, though I think my overwhelming love of the game help in that opinion.
Then again, when compared to the Connery-era, all other Bond movies pale in comparison.

I'll be honest: I had to look up that it even had a movie.

Indeed. Personally, I've always preferred the PC shooter. I like using a mouse; much better control.
Golden Eye is definitely a landmark game and one of those things that's worthy of study for the "History of Games" course that you won't find at any university, but it's just so outdated and had so little outside of its advancements to console FPS games that it just doesn't hold up anymore. It's like "The Wizard of Oz" that way.

I just compared Goldeneye on the N64 to "The Wizard of Oz." And I'm not being ironic or anything. There seems like there should be something wrong with that.

That boggles my mind! How can you consider Goldeneye N64's "finest hour" but think Perfect Dark was shit? They're practically the same game! Only PD added bots (if you wanted), co-op, and a bazillion other features.

Please elaborate, I really want to hear your reasoning for this statement.

Blaspheme I say!

Perfect Dark practically destroyed goldeneye in most area's, especially multi-player, and graphics.

It did lack the charm of goldeneye though, but it's defiantly not a shit game. You personally disliking it, doesn't make it terrible one bit.
