So, 1000 posts. A new badge and a new level of "who is this guy again?" begins!

But enough about me, lets talk about a search bar approved topic...

[HEADING=3]Corner Gas![/HEADING]

Now that you have voted in the poll share your thoughts with us.

Was it a funny show for you? If so, what is your favorite memory from the series?

Did you think Brent Butt's decision to stop the show was a good idea?

Who was your favorite character?

I'll answer my own questions.

It was a great show, most episodes had something that made me literally lol. My favorite memories are as follows: the pink-eye episode and when Hank had giant pants. Honorable mention going of course to the episode with the Giant Hoe!

I think it was a good idea. It ended the show before it became obvious that the writers for the show were running low on things to do with the characters. Some people may argue with me but I think ending it at season 6 was a good call on Brent's part.

My favorite character has to be Wanda. She doesn't like pie, steals from funeral buffets and has a crazy son. Karen is also very cool, Hank is a lot of fun and Brent is awesome because he reads comic books.

Now to get that shiny Neo badge...

It came on once on an American tv station and I watched it because I was too lazy to turn the channel. Personally I didn't like it, but that's just my opinion.

And congratulations on 1000 posts!

I never watched it, but I've only heard good things about it.

Was it a funny show for you?
Of course. It's one of the better shows that I've seen.

What is your favorite memory from the series?
I can't think of one, but watching it for 24 hours straight on New Years' was pretty fun.

Did you think Brent Butt's decision to stop the show was a good idea?
I didn't mind the decision. It seemed like they were just spinning their tires by the end.

Who was your favorite character?
Oscar. He made me laugh the most.

Congrats on 1000. Woot!

Well, it was good, but I'm glad he stopped it, as it was a tired old formula by then (although, the new "Hiccups" is a far, far worse replacement). I've seen virtually every episode, though (due to nothing being on TV at 6:30 in the morning), so yes, I enjoyed it (by the way, I am Canadian). Hank was probably the best character, and best moment was...I dunno actually, it kinda blurs together.

Corner Gas was probably the greatest Canadian show on the air (TPB being a close second) and I'm glad it went out on top. Nothing sucks more than watching one of your favourite shows get progressively worse as time goes on. I miss it, but I loved what I got.

Thanks for your support guys! I hope to get that Neo before the Banhammer accidentally falls on my internet head.
That's my plan as well. I'm close!

They used to show it on WGN a lot after Scrubs reruns, so I've watched quite a few episodes just because I'm too lazy to turn the channel. But I did enjoy what I've seen of it, though I can't say any of the episodes were particularly memorable.

What about the Rick Mercer Report?
He's the one you convinced George Bush that our incumbent President was Jean Poutine!

I never got into Corner Gas but I'm really liking Hiccups. Brent Butt is hilarious and it's nice to see a fairly wholesome comedy on TV. Don't get me wrong, I love filthy comics, but it's a refreshing change of pace to see something that can be funny while keeping PG. Hiccups is pretty lame sometimes but I think that's part of the appeal for me. I love cheesy stuff like that.

I'm also liking Dan for Mayor, which stars Fred Ewanuick (Hank, from Corner Gas). I might be a bit biased though since it was filmed entirely in Kitchener/Waterloo (where I lived up until very recently). It's also kind of silly at times but I sure love seeing shots of Kitchener city hall (Wessex city hall in the show).

I love reading posts about CanCon, I'd love to see more! Some of my favourite shows (and other media) come from this land of ours.

Congratulations on 1000!

I enjoy Hiccups for the most part but I think Dan for Mayor is the better of the two shows. You lived in Wessex? :p

Hehehe, I sure did. The next time I go down to visit some friends I'm going to stop in at "Fern's bar" (The Huether Hotel) and have a few drinks!

Actually, that wasn't Bush, that was Bush's double who made that speech and subsequently got fooled.

But, yeah, good point. The Rick Mercer Report is a classic show; almost on par with The Daily Show. The Talking to Americans segments usually bring me to tears laughing, especially when he gets people who really should know better.
