As I type this message, it's just past 1:30 AM where I live. I've been a real night-owl since High School, and I pretty much can't hold down a sleep schedule unless I have to be up at a specific time each morning.

I once had a job where I had to be up by 4:00 AM to be at work on time, and I was pretty much in bed before 8:00 PM every single night, no problem. But if I have the flexibility I don't really have any reason to keep a regular sleep schedule.

Anyway I was just wondering how many of my fellow Escapists are visiting the site past 12:00 PM, your local time.

Back to burnin' that midnight oil.

All the time. I usually go to bed around 4 am, but there are rare occasions where I stay up until past 6 am.

Nope. Job + studies + GF usually keep my ass in bed long before 12. Well... Sometimes I go to bed then get back out 12 minutes later if ya know what I mean... ^_~
Only 12? :/

Seems... not entirely... beneficial, from her perspective. :/

especially when im on a break from uni. i have like zero reason to get up so i sleep when im tired and that normally leads to me being up at night and sleeping most of the day.

Welp, where I was born it would currently be 2:45. Where I lived most of my life, 3:45. I now live where it is 12:45 (and have for about four months or so) and it's easy as hell to have a decent schedule since staying up until four on the east coast is staying up until on the west coast. I'm used to being up late, but I recently had to start waking up at six and seven, so I started going to bed a tad earlier.

12 is more than enough if you know what you are doing.
And if not, then well... how is that my problem? XD
Not what? The more than enough bit or the not knowing what you are doing bit? :/

Well, I think it's more that you don't HAVE to burn oil, because of, you know, sunlight.

It is 4:01 AM at the time of this writing. I've always been something of a night owl; having a class schedule that puts the first thing I have to do every day at two in the afternoon just enables me to stay up til dawn most mornings. I can't count the number of times that I've gone to bed because the sun has come up, and I decided that some sleep would be better than none. Reading crap on The Escapist is a pretty big part of what I do with all that extra time.

Yes.

It helps my mindset if I'm awake for some time before doing things like school.

Wake up around 12 p.m., Derp throughout the night, go to school, sleep at 2 p.m. is usually how it goes, but it changes.

Same here man.
Plus I've got added incentive to stay up late. I'm +6 GMT (roughly 12 hours ahead of EST). All the Escapist shows come out in the middle of the night for me (except Zero Punctuation since Yahtzee posts on 0 GMT, I think.)

It is blinding and hot and fire and blinding and EVIL.

That's why I wear sunglasses everywhere I go, even indoors.

I have a sleep disorder and yes, I am frequently on The Escapist at night.

My circadian rhythms basically tell me to go to bed around 6AM, wake up around 2PM, and take naps. Whenever and wherever. :D
