Poll: 3DS or 3DS XL?

As much as I love my original 3DS, it's bad battery life is annoying to say the least. I think the original looks better, but the XL is the way to go if I had to choose today. It costs more, but I think it is worth it for the battery reason alone.
It depends what game you want. Zelda looks far more epic on the 3dsXL, but Luigi's mansion is hideous on there. If you want newer games I'd suggest the XL as they'll probably be built with the XL's larger screen in mind. If you're searching for a safe bet, I'd say try to get a used, regular 3ds from Gamestop. If you don't like it, you'll have a week to return it for a full refund, which can be put to the XL.
Well, if you're getting Pokemon X/Y, you might as well get the X or Y version of the XL... (Makes perfect sense to me! LOL)
But, if you're still on the fence, then consider this... Get the original if you want the portability within your own pockets or get the XL if you want to keep getting the stylus the same way basically as with the original DS...
That, for me, is the true turning point in deciding between the two... (Either way, I still have NO idea why I'm planning to get a Y version of the XL when I get both Pokemon X/Y... when I already have the original 3DS...)

My reasoning for owning the 3DS is kinda dumb but I bought a regular 3DS because its the only one in purple. I like it a lot and screen size doesn't matter to me.
XL, no questions asked. The battery is better than advertised, it's MUCH easier to hold, and the screen is much much bigger. So much so that the 3D is amplified quite a lot with it. It's like viewing through a window rather than a small hole. Trust me, the XL is worth your time by miles. It really isn't that much less portable, really. It still fits in a standard sized pocket.
Oh, and they also have a few behind the scene improvements. Saving data (like in Monster Hunter) to the SD card takes way less time than before. Once you try the bigger screen, you'll never turn back to the smaller one.

I've also found with my giant man hands that the XL is much more comfortable, takes a lot longer for my hands to cramp up.
Portability is always an up in the air debate. Like a lot of people, I never take mine anywhere away from home without my big black case. Too expensive for me to trust in just my pocket.

I strongly recommend the XL.
For me, I was happy with the regular 3DS until I put Chrono Trigger for the DS in and tried to play it. The screen aspect ratio from the original DS is preserved, meaning that the top screen is pillarboxed when playing DS games. Chrono Trigger in particular was difficult to play and read.
The larger screens do not cause any major artifacting or resolution issues for me, and their overall use allows DS games with smaller font sizes to be played much more easily.

What are these rainbow lines that everyone is talking about? I haven't seen them at all.
My stance on the 3DS will always be thus: If you have a 3DS, it's not worth upgrading to the 3DSXL. If you don't have a 3DS, get the 3DSXL, instead.

Heh I had made the same thread about this (including the so reason on buying one is to played Pokemon X).
Anyway from that thread I originally going to buy the 3DS version but I bought the XL instead due to everyone suggestion and I never regret it (in fact my only regret was not buying it sooner!). The larger size is more comfortable and the XL size isn't that much of an issue per say since I can still put it in my coat pocket.
