Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 had the option of switching and i've always prefered 3rd person because it gives a better idea of your position realitive to enemies
It was meant to be played in 3rd person.

'Twas definitely a good idea in Oblivion. I say, sure it would be great.
I agree it was sweet in Oblivion
Sure if the third person character models look better than Oblivions. In movements I mean, none of that strange sliding around.
The player models on Fallout 3 look a bit better.

Nah, all the games i've seen do it never get it right and just weaken both the views. Or for example the third person looks great but in the first person view the hands look and move terrible.

*edit*

Funny somebody said Oblivion was great, the third person view in that game was terrible. It looked like the player was sliding half the time.
Well at least the player models look better for Fallout 3, so maybe Bethesda is learning

Hmmm. I voted no. I don't think the option to choose should be there, as one is always better than the other, depending on the game. They should get it right the first time, there shouldn't be a need for someone to want to change the view.

Ever played a game and thought, "Man! This game is awesome! But it would be so much better if it was (3rd/1st) person."? I know I have... on many games. So the question is: Do you believe that all games should give the option to switch in between the two?
Both, just because the you can experience the game two different ways.
BTW, why the hell is EFG your avatar?

beleive it or not i think it should be a mix of two for as long as it follows a few guidelines of course, like first person shooters shouldnt have auto aim, its pointless and it shouldnt be very touchy where a small move screws up every thing, and in a fps you should always see the gun and hands and a relaod animation and 3rd person should make sure that one stick is for character controle and the other is for the camera, so if the games dont follow these they should be a 3rd person instead of first and vice versa
