Do you think that using the 40mm grenade launcher in any game is "noobish" or ok?

P.S. My friend mentioned the phrase Pro Pipe, and I was hoping for it to catch on.

well... it all depends... If the person using them is just launching them around in random directions hoping to get a kill then thats using noobtubes

however if a person stratigicaly launches it where they know exactly if they hit the right spot they will kill at least 2 people then thats what i call a pro pipe

hope people agree with me on that one lol

Once you play enough you learn to adjust for long range and can get amazing kills with it.
This man speaks great truth!

Plus there is nothing quite like getting skimmed to near death by a sniper shot, then cracking a nade into the base of the window he's camping behind, to see him die as the wall collapses in on him x)

Depends, if someone is running around all game screaming into their mic and only using the grenade launcher theyre obviously a noob.
Whereas if someone is running around with a 5-1 K/d ratio, occasionally switching to their grenade launcher to get those hard to reach kills, they aren't.
Personally, i dont use them much, 2 shots isn't worth the trade-off for something like a silencer in games like COD.

I don't know about you guys but in most games that feature a 40 mm gernade launcher it's the easiest weapon to use and kill people with. It usually has a large enough kill radius that being able to aim them is more or less a technicality. The point that you need to learn hwo to aim them is only minorly valid in that if you can't aim all you have to do is shoot it from 25 feet or less or just practice with it, as you do with anything to get better at it.

so I would definitely say it is a noob weapon. And hurr derr there are noob weapons, they are lbaled noob weapons because anyone can use them and get kills the grenade launcher is one of those weapons.

The only game where I've actually had any real difficulty killing someone with a 40mm was America's Army and that's mostly becasue it's hard to kill anyone in that game, 40mm or not and you actuall have to learn how to aim it, unlike games like MW2 or BC2.

Oh man, better not use a weapon that's in the game! That'll make me a n00b. /sarcasm.

Really? Are you seriously asking this? It's the player, not the game that can ever be n00bish.

I'm pretty sure anyone can use any weapon in a game to kill opponents.

It really is down to the player and how they use it. Using the grenade launcher to take out a cluster of enemies in cover is a pretty sound tactic given that that's what it was designed to do. Running round the map with Scavenger, Danger Close while using the tube on anything that looks vaguely like a player is a tad nabbish.

Like others have said it depends on how its used. If a person is using it as their main weapon and switches to them every time they respawn to try to kill the first person they see with it they are a noob, but if a person uses them to get hard to reach kills they are a good player.

Noob-Tube, definitely. When I see Level 70 players using them on MW2, those who have already prestige-d more than once, I see people who play solely to piss off everyone else.

I can't hold it against those who are low-level, as the grenade launcher is a solid means by which to gain quick experience to "catch up". However, after a certain point the use of said weapon is no longer tolerable, as one begins to acquire a plethora of other tools in one's arsenal that can get the job done without labeling you as a cheap-kill A-Hole. Building classes solely based around the launcher (with the Scavenger perk, etc.) is the epitome of unnecessary. If one resorts to such tactics for their high killstreaks, you're not proving who is the most skilled player; it merely becomes a gauge by which to show how much of a shameless dick you are. True men fight with honor.

I've got some seriously profound kills with the grenade launcher.
Whatever level on MW2 where there's a walkway off to the side - I've hit someone walking on it without any of the reticules on, I guess it was hardcore mode or something.

Really, it's not a newb weapon. I've seen just as many experienced people using it as newbies.

In Modern Warfare. Seeing how that is where the term originally came from.

I want to get all the people who think weapons are cheap and get them to fight a real war.

"Aww you douche, we said no nuclear warfare."

"No M16 you fag!"

This post sums up my feelings pretty nicely. Silly walls, thinking they're invincible.

I've call it a noob tube since BF2. it was an immeite reaction for anyone with one: *jump* *DUNK-bang* you're now dead. Not a lot of people use in BC2 cause you only get 2 rounds with it instead of the 6-7 like in BF2. It's still a noob weapon though,.

I agree completely. It all depends on how effectively they use the weapon.
