So my birthday was last month and one of my presents was Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3, which my mother bought me off Amazon. Unfortunately, she was sold a PEGI copy of the game, which apparently was region locked or just plain didn't like my PS3. We went to the local EB to get a new copy, but all local outlets were apparently sold out. I did, however, discover that I have at least sixty dollars worth of trade-in credit that I can spend at any time. I purchased Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, a game I used to own, in place of the Gundam title (the sixty bucks was left over).

My mother is on holidays and we're planning on having a day out, and there's an EB near where we're having lunch. We're planning to pop over after and browse, and I've got a few ideas to potentially spend my credit on...

1) Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3, if they now have it in. Assuming my mother doesn't repurchase it herself.

2) Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations. I have all the other games in the series except this instalment, and it was something that I had on my birthday wishlist, but with faded interest at the time. I'm not sure if I should go get it now, or if I should wait until either the next instalment or until it drops in price.

3) Dragon's Dogma. I've enjoyed the demo of the game and it does look somewhat fun, but I've heard several detracting factors (like pawns never STFUing, long travel time, etc) and I keep losing interest when watching Youtube playthroughs of the game (which I consider a bad sign). Also, I have an unofficial policy of boycotting Capcom games for their nickel-and-diming ways (not that any of the game's DLC looks worth it). Still, I'm willing to give it a chance...

4) Pre-order Darksiders II. I've criticized the original game a lot, mainly for ripping off Zelda (which I've stopped caring about by now), but this game... I dunno, it really catches my eye. I've watched a full playthrough of the original, so I'm not out of the loop, and the preorder bonuses sound worth of a preorder, especially since it'll be on credit.

5) Or maybe get something else and/or at another time, using the credit for something I really want, like one of next year's releases (not much of personal interest coming out this year save AC3, which is in the "wait until Christmas" period).

So what do you guys recommend?

Hit post way too early the first time around.

Yeah, wait for something you want, rather than something immediate. Otherwise you'll end up regretting your purchase and, y'know, will have wasted $60. Can you put it towards another purchase? Or do you have to spend it on a game?

Also, come on man, the choice between AC3 and Darksiders 2, the clickening? That's gotta be the easiest decision you've ever made.

I would skip Dragon's dogma. It's not a whole lot of fun after the first hour or two. Naruto is really fun but it was just a check out game, considering you can beat it and unlock almost everything within a week. I don't know much about Dynasty warriors so I can't really say anything about it. Darksiders 2 does look awesome but I would choose Assassin's creed 3 over it for sure.
