As I'm sure all of you are aware, tomorrow marks the release of both the Rock Band: The Beatles game and the remastered musical catalog what many people have said is the greatest band of all time. MTV, owner of the Rock Band franchise, has forked over an indisputably huge amount of cash to bring RB:B to life and a fortune in marketing. Apple Corps. Ltd. meanwhile has spent four years remastering the Beatles' albums to a high-quality stereo mix from the original mono-channel master tapes. In short, a great deal of time and money has been spent in preparation for tomorrow. My question for you, my dear Escapists is this...

Do you plan on buying the Rock Band: Beatles game? Will you splurge for the boxed set with all of the remastered albums and mini-documentaries? Will you just get a specific album or two? Or, are you one of those people who "doesn't get what the big deal is about the Beatles?" Seeing that MTV has been losing money on Rock Band [http://weblogs.variety.com/the_cut_scene/2009/02/rock-band-is-losing-money-for-mtv.html], this could prove to be a huge bust if the launch doesn't go well, considering how much they had to shell out to license the tracks. I've been saving up some cash, so I'll probably drop it on a boxed set if I can find one, otherwise I'll just pick up the individual albums.

Big Beatles fan, but I'm kinda strapped for cash at the moment.

Maybe in more Christmasy times...
Hm, I should probably edit the poll to include that option. I'm a big fan too... I'm pretty excited to hear the "new albums" since my ancient copy of the White Album sounds pretty rough.

Nope, never been much of a Beatles fan. I mean, they're alright, but I don't care that much.

Nah, I like the Beatles and all but I'd rather save up and get another game.

The Beatles are not, in any sense of the word, the greatest band of all time. This is coming from someone who owns their discography on vinyl.
Okay, so maybe you're more of a Rolling Stones kind of guy ;-) Regardless of what you feel about their music, it would be hard to argue that they were not a very popular, highly influential band to those who came after them. Out of curiosity, since you own the vinyls (which many purists seem to think are unquestionably better) will you be upgrading you library?

I managed to hear the remastered version of She Loves You on the radio the other day, and the difference was completely lost on me. Either I just wasn't paying enough attention, or Apple just wasted four years to capitalize on the resurgence of Beatle-mania.

Nothing, I've acquired a large Beatles collection over the years. I might check out the Love album finally, I haven't had a chance to listen to it but I hear it's ridiculously awesome

We got the game this morning! I am rather excited. Though I can't play it until the weekend when the PS3 and everything else comes home. It currently lives 2 hours away. *has a cry*
Should be good fun! *charging fangirl mode*

Sorry, I'm what my wife calls an "Elvis" person. Said she could tell in less than five minutes after meeting me. Weird.
Sounds like she's also a Pulp Fiction fan. To quote Tarantino, "There's two kinds of people in this world, Elvis people and Beatles people. Now Beatles people can like Elvis. And Elvis people can like the Beatles. But nobody likes them both equally. Somewhere you have to make a choice. And that choice tells me who you are." I don't have anything against the King, though. The man who sang "Kentucky Rain" will always have a place in my heart.
