No, there aren't rumors all over the internet, I'm just curious to know who would play a Fallout MMO if it came out. I sure would.

No. Part of what makes Fallout a hit is the feeling of isolation.
With thousands of other people running around shouting "lolwut" You lose that atmosphere, and the sort of special interaction that the Surroundings have with your character.

I would, but I don't think the universe would work unless they allowed the humans to actually customize the world like UO or darkfall. A million people farming deathclaws for Epic Plasma Rifle of +9 Kickassery would be lame to no end. :p

I thought somebody picked up the rights for it, either Bethesda or Black Isle Studios. Might be wrong though...

The whole sense of isolation would be ruined like was said above, also it was in development until the developers didn't do anything for 10 years (?) and got pulled up by Betheseda and taken off of the game.

First post nailed it.
An MMO is completely contradictory to the setting of Fallout.

This would be fucking epic though.

I have toyed with the idea of a MMO that takes place in a post-zombie apocalypse world, with towns being ramshackle constructions that send you out on quests to gather life necessities and such. Although I usually don't think about whether it'd work or not and concentrate on thinking about how atmospheric you could make it (picture rolling skies stained purple and a barren wasteland ahead of you).

I would rather they included a co-op mode. I've played through Fallout 3 five times now, all current DLCs. But I would LOVE to be able to have a friend accompany me. (My friend and I were talking about this yesterday.)

What's better than wearing Lincoln's hat and running around in your underwear throwing grenades at everything?

Obviously, TWO naked Lincolns throwing grenades at everything!

I put Fallout 3 on the shelf until I can get past how mmo-like the 'wasteland survival guide' quests felt. It's been about 3 months.

i might do it but i hope the next fallout doesn't have any sort of multilayer because it almost always affect the single player so the single player gets shorter

Yes

I think that would work really well. If not an MMO then atleast some form of Coop play. Walking around the wastes with a buddy... awesome.

No.
Because like every MMO, you'll always have people like complete retards around the game. Do you really want a 10 year old in your Fallout Universe? And Interplay is on a contract I remember, they have to finish the game or else Bethesda gets the license. And Interplay should move to Earthworm Jim not a fallout MMO.

Bethesda is taking away the rights to the game, because interplay or whoever didn't come up with enough money in a year like they agreed in a contract with bethesda.
