I voted "yes" but largely based on the fact that I approve of non-fantasy MMOs in general though I feel that up until this point nobody has done a decent science fiction MMO. The semi-exception to this is Anarchy Online which would have been an awesome game if they managed to put all the things into it that are there now, back when the tech was more current, AND could deal with some of their problems like zone loading. Right there are all the elements needed for a smash success if they were ever able to re-launch it.

A post apocolyptic MMORPG done correctly would be awesome. Not sure if I think they could properly stick the "Fallout" name on it, but as a general genere I think it could be done well. Honestly if *I* was developing a post apocolyptic MMORPG I'd be after something like the old "Gamma World" liscence rather than Fallout simply because there are a few more character options and such through Gamma World, as well as a mutations system that can be used in lieu of magic, and a pretty decent basis for treasure given some of the hyper-advanced societies that had developed and fallen (I.E. Tech V-VI).

For expansions you could also follow up on some other ideas like having the Starship Warden (Metamorphisis Alpha) wind up floating in orbit.

There is already one being developed. Although, I doubt that it's coming, because the Bethesda gave the developers a specific time line in which to show something, and the game is still vaporware. I wouldn't want to. What makes Fallout great is that you feel like you're with a very controlled number of people, where people aren't just running amok, killing random passerby. Fallout is all about choice, and you can't have that if someone else decides to just make it for you and then emote in your face for 15 minutes.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Okay, enough stealing jokes from Yahtzee. I can't help but feel this would be a bad idea. It could not work as anything other than a PvP, which many people (like me) tend to avoid. PvP tends to bring out the very worst of the internet, not to mention makes it hard for newer players. I also don't think a level cap 20 would be very satisfying either.

Not to mention good writing. I'd expect an MMO to have some top notch writers, and Bethesda recently has left me very doubtful.

MMO's with guns is always hard to pull off properly. Look at Tabula Rasa. It was simply terrible.
