I feel obligated to point out that during our conversations he admitted that, while he was a drug dealer, he wasn't a junkie. He was also of the opinion that officers of the law held personal vendettas against him for no apparent reason other than the fact that he looked like a dealer. Sooo.. so yeah, I felt totally at ease.
Incidentally, that's not the only thing he offered. He said he could get me into any nearly any of the local clubs free of charge, free meals, free clothes...
You know, I would probably be more open to these things, despite of his appearance, had it not seemed as though he was trying to jam them down my throat. Maybe if he just started off small and invited me to a local concert or something (for free, of course), I would at least consider it, check out the reputation of the venue, that sort of thing. Am I too easy? I mean, how else is someone supposed to make friends if they're just because they look like a dealer? I try to see the good in people, at least, and don't just write off every stranger I see as a dreg until proved otherwise. At least he was honest...
