Ermm... may I ask how this would be possible? How would one define the 'time' at which you die (since time is relative)? If you are told that you will die at 12 noon, which clock is this according to? We need more data before we can make a proper decision!

No way! I would start to freak out as the day grew closer until I'd probably scare myself into a coma.
That wouldnt help out your situation then would it?
Exactly why I shouldn't know. I'm better off being naive and happy.

No, for a whole host of reasons.

EDIT:

Yes, so on the next to last day I could do whatever the fuck I want and not have to suffer the consequences.
Unless your doing whatever you wanted led to your death as predicted, in a time-paradox of sorts.

If my deity came up to me, I'd be convinced I was hallucinating, as I invented the Great Unholy Critabeats of Orgliz 7 as a tax dodge.

Well if I want to get incredibly technical that would mean that fate exists and you'll survive everything else up until that point and time so i'd be going insane doing incredibly dangerous things, probably get into constant gunfights and murders... That would make a cool movie plot.

The That you see right before you die. He knows these things.

So If you Die in china and your american. The time you saw at the last clock in china is the time you die. Better hope The clock isnt early then.

And He is all powerful so he can avoid paradoxes like that since Time is subjective.

I honestly would Not want to know but I would try and act like I did if this did happen.

EDIT: He will try his hardest to keep you alive because your diety doesnt like to be wrong.

It would depend on how it would happen. If Death appeared and told me I would be hit by a car in exactly a month, I'd probably stay at home that day.

I would want to know, because my greatest fear of death is the uncertainty of how long I will actually live, how much I will accomplish and leave behind before I die. One great artistic work? Children? A world-altering legacy? Whether nothingness or something awaits me in the end, I can acheive as much as possible in the time alotted. That said, I'd probably need several drinks and about three weeks to recover...

With regard to the last option on the poll,we can already predict the day that we will die to a certain degree of accuracy without need for some 'diety' (which I'm hoping is a pun on 'deity') to tell us. For instance, at 20yrs old I know that my death will more than likely be within the next 100yrs. Using the algorithms designed by life-insurers, I could narrow this figure down a lot more. Most people could figure out an approximate 'date of death' if they really wanted to. The fact that most people don't kind of answers your poll.

'I THINK IF THEY KNEW THEN PEOPLE WOULD NOT LIVE AT ALL'

A poorly remembered quote from Terry Pratchett's 'Reaper Man'. Trust the words in caps, it's the grim reaper.

Ignoring death is part of what being human is all about, it's neither ignorant or profound, it's just how we are. Deprive myself of that? Never.
Terry Pratchett: A quote for every occasion.
Yes, even that one.

I agree with him, by the way. If I knew when I was going to die then I'd be anticipating that moment with dread every second of my life. I most definitely would not want that.

Yeah but I said the Time and time only! FOR EXAMPLE: 2/4/67 at 3:43 in the afternoon and 13 seconds 5 milleseconds.

Plus if he did then obviously a car would fly thru your house and run your cheating ass over. Death is one test you dont want to cheat!

I wouldn't like to know. It becomes a countdown to a day you are not looking forward to at all.

That calculation is only an average, many millions of things could happen to you and this poll is to find out if you would like to know exactly how long you will live. Although is confusing with all the time paradox crap. I mean, knowing when you will die will change your behaviour which will change when you die.

Uchh... sorry, I was unclear. I meant that it made the last option on the poll redundant, not the poll redundant.

It seems I failed to read your first sentence, sorry about that. Oh and I voted yes because I would hate for the chance that I spent the last of my life being my lazy annoying self and not you know mended the ties and tricking people into remembering me as awesome.

Yeah, but I'm just saying that by being extra careful on that exact day/hour/minute, one might be able to avoid it and cause some giant space-time rip. Though if I was meant to be hit by a car, and managed to avoid it, Death would probably immediately make me die of a heart-attack.

Yeah, I would, if only to be able to make sure to see that all my loose ends, family, and friends are taken care of.

No.

When you die your dead and that's an end of it.
Why worry about something you have no influence over?
