I've read the movie plot, I've read a review...and to be honest, just by judging how I was raised and simply what the movie's about - I doubt I could watch it or put myself through it.

So tell me Escapist, have you watched it? What did you think? Put your little summary or review or comments here.

For those who dont know 'A Serbian Film', here's a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Serbian_Film

Enjoy.

I saw the cinemasnobs review on it. I don't want to watch it and I hope I can keep my curiosity at bay. But you know what they say: Never say never!

This. Then I saw it on his least favorite films of the year thing (or his favorite, can't remember) and was reminded of how much I don't want to see it.

I have briefly heard of it before but now i want to see it just because of how insanely violent it is.

Also, killing a guy via brain-rape seems kind of slightly awesome in a weird way.

I watched it, nothing in the film bothered me, the film just seems like an excuse to show things that are considered morally and socially unacceptable. The story isn't even good, i just got the impression it was the same as some little kid showing off about how late their bedtime is except the film maker was going LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME, look at what i've put in my film. Trying to be offensive for the sake of it : /

I'll be watching it as soon as I get the chance. A few of my friends have seen it and they all say it's really horrible so that's a good indicator that it's something I'm probably going to appreciate.

I caught a re-run of Tosh.0 the other day that ended with a 5-minute spoiler about Human Centipede. For those of you fortunate enough to not be familiar with this movie, imagine what a horror film called "Human Centipede" would be about. Yup. I must say, I was almost tempted to go out and rent the film immediately, just because it's been so long since I've watched something just for the bad factor (unless you count Metroid: Other M cinematics). But pedophilia, necrophilia and rape? Nah. I think I'll give "A Serbian Film" a pass.

I will watch it soon, actually. Right after I watch The Human Centipede.

I've watched it. Even though the director and cast are going all about the scenes in the movie being "symbolism for the Serbian government" and etc, it's just full of pointless, gratuitous violence/sexual content.

The acting is disappointing. But, then again, the actors themselves are about as talented as a pig wearing a tutu and trying on ballet. You could just take one of the previous movies that featured them, add more sex and violence and you'd pretty much get "A Serbian Film".

I get the feeling that the point was to shock the audience. It succeeded, but I recommend ignoring it like a child that desperately wants attention.

I saw it with a friend. It's okay.
The story and setting is disturbing as hell, but the way it is made is quite good.
I found me waiting for more, to see where the film would go next, if it would get worse. It did.
But the whole "It's a metaphor for the Serbian government fucking their people".. Stuff it you sick depraved fuck, and just claim responsibility for the film you've made.

I read a review of it in the Telegraph (who are pretty stright laced film critics at the best of times but anyway) and although the review tried to focus on the art gratis artis aspect, what was being described sounded nothing less than vile. Some countries I think have refused to give the film a rating for goodness sake. If that isn't damning I don't know what is.

Nope, not planning on watching it ever.

Now let us never speak it's name again! (Please?)

I'll probably get around to watching it sometime.

I don't mind its themes in the least, though by most accounts it sounds more like an inelegant depravity vignet thing than something of actual artistic merit and message about the reason and rhyme of the darker sides of human nature (Antichrist might hold more promise in that regard, though so far I'm certainly no fan of what its director have put out so far).

So not much of a priority.
