I have to say I do support this to a degree. Although I don't think another human being diserves to be subjected to what may potentially be a very neglective and hard childhood. For a starters if the woman is having casual, unprotected sex, I highly doubt the father will want anything to do with it. Also if the mother is careless enough to not use some form of contraception in the first place can they really be trusted with a child? I support abortion entirely, beacuse the only times I see that abortion is inappropriate is the times where no one would seek it anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, if there isn't something like a 'rape' situation involved, justification for an abortion should be on the grounds of weither or not you are capable of caring for a child, during pregnancy and from birth until adulthood. Can you provide a safe place for them to live and a decent standard of living? Food, clothing and other nessecities? Can you ensure they recieve health care and an education? Can you be a good parent? Can you support them, advocate them and dicipline them when nessecaray? Do you have a good understanding of when dicipline is appropriate? Can you love them? Can you teach them important life skills? Can you raise them as a mentally healthy, well-rounded, functional and self sufficent person? Or at least someone who does not pose a danger to society? If you cannot fullfill these oblogations then keeping the child is probably not the best option. Everyone diserves the best quality of life and much suffering can be prevented if someone is not put in that situation in the first place.

EDIT: Forgot quote

"Tough for me to say. It's more of a "Different Case, Different Stance" deal for me.

For instance: A woman is raped. Does she not have the right to abort what wasn't hers to begin with?

On the other hand: A promiscuous woman sleeps around alot, and gets pregnant. For being careless, I don't feel a fetus has the right to die."

This will not turn out well.

I believe Abortion should be open for all, as I think a Fetus isn't a living thing.

I am pro abortion mainly for the simple reasons that I do not think that any human being should be born into a very disruptive family, and I also value the life of a already feeling, living person (the mother) more than a fetus.

Fetuses aren't human, killing non human things isn't wrong. Ergo, kill all the fetuses you want. And suck out their stem cells if that's what floats your boat.

Definitely the woman/couple's choice. There are a lot of different circumstances, but whatever they may be the choice should still be their own.

For instance, if they are seriously struggling with money then they won't be able to effectively take care of the child, but they might realise they'll find it too hard to give up the child up for adoption when it's born.

Alternatively, there's also times when the birth of the child could cause serious harm or death to the mother. And in cases of rape, the birth of the child may be mentally damaging to the mother.

The thing to take into consideration would be whether the abortion is the right choice for the individuals.

I have a Libertarian view on this subject: I think women have the right to choose an abortion, but the responsibility to look after the new life they created.

with your logic, we should have already gotten rid of tabbaco, because it is a generlly negitive thing.
pretty much. although the fact that people are addicted complicates that particular issue.

EDIT:also, i think dying when i'm barley alive in a womens womb is better then starving and feeling terrible all the time, but that's just me. and i just hate making morality choices on forums, because the ansewr most people will chosse is obvious, and thus, they are utterly pointless
you don't have the right to make that decision every unborn child. and if you don't like moral choices, then i'm not sure why you osted in this thread.

We first need to know if stem cell treatments will be able to regrow my limbs. Once we have confirmation, we can go from there.

Fetuses are human, just not developed to a level of consciousness.

i think that people should be able to choose... in many sitautions where it conflicts it is teenagers or other people who are not ready to take on the responsability of a child.. this can lead to the child growing up in a broken household or causing the parents extreme poverty as they must give up responsabilities like school to ensure the care of their child..

long story short.. i beleive that people should be able to do what they want...

pro choice... but not like a woman could just go say "yeah i want an abortion" and they'd get but they have to have a real reason for it...

You know, I think it's messed up to kill an unborn kid because something happened, but at the same time there are indeed times when an abortion is actually needed-like giving birth would place the mother's life at risk.

What annoys me is that most women-including rape victims-abuse this practice just because don't want to have a kid, but those people pushing pro-life on the grounds that a woman can't be allowed to make her own decisions about her body also annoy me.

So this is what I say: Don't make it illegal, but only perform in critical situations and make alternative options such as adoption easier on the mother/family's part.

That way everyone wins

i voted B. it IS murdering a baby, but if abortion was made illegal their would be hell to pay.

i think people should just be more careful with contraception.

If this about RU486 and the other drug, I say to the pro-lifers... Grow up and get a clue.
It's been proven the soul doesn't actually enter the body until 6 months of the child's development in the womb.
It isn't murder no matter how hard you try to justify it. You should accept the fact that not everyone agrees with your religion, and not everybody can afford to have a child. Abortion is only a crime, If the mother wants the child. Leave people to make up their decisions. Sure abortion may not be your thing, but stop trying to get it banned when it could benefit the lives of other people. You're not always right, no matter how much you try to deny it, just accept it and move on. Stop forcing your beliefs onto the rest of the population. I don't preach to you people about Satanism, Bhuddism, or Atheism.

Except the mother, whose body it is that the government would be violating by restricting it in such a way. Labor is not exactly a painless process.

And really, we don't need more people in this world. We just don't. For that reason, I rate abortion as a preferable choice to orphaning or adoption/foster care.

murder is murder, but i believe in killing for the sake of being comfortable and avoiding responsibility.
