Not really... I've only gotten a 100% completion on Borderlands (the disc-based content, anyway) because I really enjoy the game and the trophies/achievements spur me on to explore the game more.

Except the one where you have to kill something by jumping on it. I did that mostly just to see if I could.

Though... I've got 98% for A Crack in Time. There's a trophy I can't get, so I don't try.

If I like a game enough, trophies are a way to give extra objectives to meet If I feel like it, but I don't really care about my gamer score and it can ruin multiplayer when people would rater get achievements than actually play.
Yeah, that about sums it up.

Not in a million years.
Even though i have 30.000+ achivement points, it´s out of love to gaming. Im yet to get 1000/1000. And that ain´t gonna happen.

I don't normally go out my way for trophies, I mean I don't even bother with the multiplayer ones, but if a challnge for a trophie looks interesting or just makes me think, I want to try it, I will, until I fail enough times to give up or get it!

i do consider myself a score-whore
but i dont see whats wrong with it
i dont get achievements so i can admire the meaningless numbers suffixed with a G
but to push myself into playing games in an unusual and different way
to push myself to do things i wouldn't normally in a game
E.G. the hardest difficulties

and the motivation is the achievement to show that you've conquered the bastard

Yea, depends on the game and the objective though.

My favorite would be Zombie Genocidest: kill 53,595 infected :3
Thats just off hand though.

I'll try to nab a few that I would otherwise miss if I played normally, but I don't go substantially out of my way.

If I really like a game, I'll go out of my way to get its achievements, but if the game has ridiculously difficult or time consuming ones, I usually won't even bother.

I'm a whore...and proud.

Not sure what my favorite achievement is...but I know I have a few from Ninja Gaiden 2 that make most of my friends slap me for even doing such things to myself.

Meh. I guess I'm sadistic, too.

I'm happy to collect single player trophies but I usually don't bother with multiplayer. The exception is when I realise I'm a hair's breadth from Collecting all of them inadvertently....then I deem it worthy of a little effort.

No I don't play games for achievements/trophies. I do it to enjoy myself, have fun and blow off some steam. The only achievements I have actually made an effort to get are for my FIFA 10 and 11 virtual pro's - in order to increase their various attributes and in so doing so, making them better players.

Yes, a bit...I will tell you now. I specifically asked for games this christmas that are extremely easy to get...the LEGO games for Xbox. I am so ashamed of myself.

I never feel any sense of accomplishment when I receive automated messages =(
However, if someone else said (wow =D) then I'd be all like, yay =)

But yeah. Not many people would do that because so many of those people have those achievements already.

So the best achievement I got was probably one of the ones in Garrys Mod.

Currently playing ME2 through on Insanity partly for the Cheevo', mostly because I was looking for an excuse to replay it.

General rules are:

Single player Cheevo's = good

Multiplayer Cheevo's = bad

Coop Cheevo's can go die in a fire... Fucking Army of Two

I wouldn't call myself a Cheevo' whore... but my 46000+ GS begs to differ XD

My favorite thing about achievements is when I do something completely off-the-wall whacky in a game and BAM! the developers were expecting me to do it all along! It makes me feel like the game was made especially for me.

But I don't go out of my way to collect them all (unless I REALLY like the game, e.g. Mass Effect 2) and I don't give a rat's ass about my gamerscore, since it doesn't actually do anything.

Absolutely. I love achievements and I put way to much time and effort into getting them. Yay Mile High Club :D I'm sure there are others I'm more proud of but everyone knows what that one is.

I love getting achievements, to me they add an extra dimension to the game and encourage replayability. I used to do the same on all my other games with 100% completions before we started getting the tracked online so really nothing major changed for me. And deep down it is nice to show off that one really hard to get achievement that took you ages to get but was so worth it in the end...

... like my 7 Day Survivor... :x

Honestly I will get ones that interest me, sometimes I will get a few because on the way to the end they are easy to get...

Say whine and cry about someone using single player cheats to buff up a make believe award? Nah I'm not that much of a loser ;p

46,000 isn't being an achievement whore, unless you only have like 46-50 games!

An Achievement/Trophy Whore is someone that will go that extra mile to earn that one hard achievement/trophy in a game... Just wanted to see how many people would sell their souls for achievements as quickly as I would...

On a similar topic, what's the achievement/trophy your most proud of?

For me, it's gotta be "5 Day Survivor" on Dead Rising... 11 hours and 42 minutes of hell that was... It was so worth it!

Never going to attempt to get 7 Day Survivor though... EVER!!!
The DR Survivor ones are easy!

Dead or Alive 4 S Class, probably mine.
