I prefer Achievements. I can't really tell you why, maybe it's because the points give me a faster overview of how complicated getting the achievements was. Funny, though, that for the last months I've gotten way more trophies than points.

Achievements as gamerscore adds more meaning to an achievment than bronze, silver or gold. In my view.

3. Other: playing a better game that doesn't require achievements or trophies to give a sense of satisfaction.

Same thing.
Really, why is there no option for "pointless debate" in the poll?

I chose Trophies just because I have a PS3. But to be honest, they're pretty much identical.

But you get a trophy level which is the same as "gamerscore" really.

Just saying they're identical.
Ah but!

No you're right they're the same thing.
But for some reason I will always think achievements are better.

I would say trophies cuz I have a PS3 but I really don't see a difference.

The one tiny difference I do notice is it seems to take a lot longer for a PS3 to register that you got a trophy than a 360 to do the same for an achievement.... if that makes sense. Does that make sense?

Again, not really. 35,000 Gamerscore is clear. You have 35,000 Gamerscore. And when you get more GamerScore, the total goes up so you can see that the person how has 35,750 Gamerscore or whatever.

Whereas level 14 doesn't really mean anything. It's just, okay. Level 14. I wish that meant something tangible, but it doesn't because it takes so long to get to level 15. It could take anywhere from weeks or months to see the change from level 14 to level 15 depending on how quickly you collect trophies, but for all those trophies collected in the time between the level finally going up again, there's no note of progress.

Really, it'd be nice if one of you people who think they're both exactly the same would take the time to write a well through out post explaining why you think they're the same instead of just going "their teh same and if u disagree ur wrong cuz there teh same lolz" so we can have an actual conversation about it.

Achievements, the reason, the gamerscore points that come with achievements give it more versatility instead of just bronze, silver, gold.
Though, I'm not one to go after achievements, I just happen to get them usually

Achievements. Trophies are far to limited due to thier only being 4 of them. Where as achievements have the flexibility to reward you accordingly. 5gs for pressing start and 10gs for beating a level where a trophy would both be bronze. So a trophy rewards you the same where achievements reward you (well should) based on the skill required).

Also checking trophies against your friends levels is a pain in the ass. Checking achievements is so easy.

It makes sense because it's true. It takes longer for the PS3 to recognize that you got a trophy and display the unlock notification than it does for the 360 to do it. Watch your PS3 the next time you think you're supposed to be getting a trophy: the HDD access light will start flickering like crazy in between you fulfilling the requirements and the notification appearing.

My "favorite" part of comparing trophies is after I get done looking at the individual game I wanted to compare, I hit Circle to go back to the game list and then want to hit Circle to go back further, but the PS3 says "lolno" and locks you out of all controls until it finishes loading EVERY LAST GAME you both have played to the game list. And the process of loading all of those games is NOT a quick one, so you get to sit there with your thumb up your ass for a few minutes waiting for it.

I prefer achivements because they aren't grouped in the same way. I like the way that doing similar things gets me different rewards depending on the maker. Also I prefer the sound.

I was just making sure what I said made sense cuz I thought I couldn't word it too well.

But thanks for that little insight. I'll look for that next time I get a trophy
