It kind of depends on the context.
Also, they're just breasts.
If I were a female, I'd gladly show my breasts on screen for the check that these people get in movies these days.

My Gods. Neither.

I have a bit of a problem with either side of this argument, which could be because I mainly hear this from those on the extreme ends of each side, but still.

Yes, I find it sexy when I woman has nice breasts and exposes them.

No, I don't think it gives them any power they didn't have before.

No, I don't think that is makes them a sexual object.

The situation that they reveal their breasts in is important. If it's something that makes sense for the character, then awesome, if not, lame. There should always be a reason. A better reason than "Oh yeah fan service." If a woman shows her breast to try to seduce the audience into liking the movie, show, or what have you, then that's bad. If they do it to seduce a man onscreen, or something like that, great.

Hey now I don't have to explain why.

Depends. In the context of the film, poster, work of media, is she presented as a manipulatable "object" totally susceptible to a man's will or an agent with intention of her own? Is she a real woman with intention or a Stepford wife? It'd depend entirely on the situation.

Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie should start parading nakedly in movies.

Why is there no pole option for "it's totally awesome"?

anyway from my very limited point of view I'd say empowerment.

It all depends on context. For example, in my all-time favorite movie Children of Men, a woman takes her shirt off. However, it isn't done in a sexual way; it happens because she needs to tell the main character that she is pregnant, but he would never believe it if she just said it*. Yes, you can see her breasts, but they aren't the focus.

Other times, however, there is no purpose, just pandering. It needs to be judged on a case-by-case basis.
I totally agree with you. Thus, I vote undecided. Context in this situation reigns supreme.

Well, sometimes in movies, there's a female actress doing a strip tease while college boys are filming.
That would make it sexist objectifying.

Sometimes, it's just there in the movie but not the point, like if a woman was stranded on an island and clothes would just be a hassle.
That would make it sexual empowerment.

So I'll go with "undecided". As with everything, it all depends on the context and situation.

Regardless of what the woman herself feels, she isn't furthering the feminist cause. It only reinforces the social representation of women as sexual objects.
