My vote goes to FF VII, OP, because it's the first one I purchased of the three games from your list that I own. I can't speak to Castlevania at all because I'm not into the series.

If you like the FF series and are ready to tackle a long turn-based game, VII and IX are both good choices, but VII is the one that spawned several other games, a movie, and a lot of debate. If you're feeling more action-oriented atm, go with MGS. Yes, it's stealth-action, but it's paced well, and it's a good game even if it's not my favorite of the series (that would be MGS3).

Main thing: have fun.

I hear Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is good so try that maybe. I have no idea how much it costs though. So from your list I'd get FF7.

Right now, I'm playing FF9 and the first Prinny game. FF9 can be zoomed or centered on the screen, but it's manageable despite the grainy visuals. Music and gameplay are excellent. The cutscenes alone are almost worth the price. Prinny is colorful and fun, has great music but it's also pretty hard.

I also have a war strategy, Patton, but that's 20$.

Final Fantasy Dissidia Duodecim (several changes to the fighting system and contains the entire "plot" of the first game). I very unique fighting game which I best describe to everyone as "Flashy, Sparkle, Magic, Sword Fight", in more explanatory terms, a playable version of the fancy fights you see in cutscenes. It's very fluid, skillful, and unique, there isn't anything else like it that I can think of. Only complaint is that it has the only story I have ever actively hated in a game, take what people normally complain about JRPGs and consider something that evokes the same distaste and hatred within someone who actively likes JRPGs. Don't let this dissuade you as the story is skipable and unnecessary, so you can ignore it and just play the unique fighting system. If you are unsure then there is also a Demo available on PSN for both Dissidia and Duodecim.

Edit: Did not see $14 and PSN credit, Duodecim is out of your price range at $20, let me check Dissidia, [checks], and Dissidia is also $20. I would just recommend adding $5 more, but you only have $14, so you would need to add $10 and then have $4 left. THIS IS WHY REQUIRING ACCOUNT CREDIT IS ANNOYING MICROSOFT!, SONY!, NINTENDO!

Good God, Persona 3 Portable. I don't know how much it costs, but buy it. Two characters with very different experiences? Kickass characters and super fantastic music? Scorching your enemies with the power of Satan (or even better, Cu Chulainn)? Fun RPG combat as a metaphor for the darkness in the heart of man or something? Just buy the damn game

If you're really dedicated to the list you present us for some reason, then Final Fantasy 9. In the realm of all games available for PSP, Persona 3 Portable by an mile

Not sure how much it is, but if you're able to get MGS: Peace Walker do so. Very good addition to the MGS series, which I didn't expect until actually playing it on the HD Collection for Xbox 360. Loads to do in it as well.

Totally agree with this one, P3 Portable is a great example of a port done right, and fixed the biggest problem with P3: Not being able to control your party members. What does that mean for you? It means you get an improved version of a great game, BUY IT. And if it costs more than $14, which it probably does, keep it in mind for the future

Not sure if you can get them via PSN points card, but I'd be getting LittleBigPlanet or Mega Man Powered Up.
