Unless they do something really interesting with 1st party titles... Maybe a Realistic-Gritty Mario game in the same vein as the Zelda Games, with an actual story and voice acting. Something near that level, that radical new direction for their IPs, I have no interest in the Wii U. The touch screen seems innovative, but just like last time I doubt 3rd party developers will actually do anything cool with it.

Soured on Nintendo? It was kind of your own fault for buying it in the first place. Not only did it come out a year after the 360 and at the same time as the PS3, but it was pretty clear from the get go what it offered. You were hardly suckered in, you just made a stupid mistake and blamed the company for it.

Also, voice acting isn't needed to create characters or tell stories... And the atmosphere and stories in Zelda games are usually pretty well done. Stories aren't even the main appeal of Nintendo games. The gameplay is. If you want to play a game for just a story then you might as well just go and plug in your DVD player.

Also, why would they make a realistic Mario or Zelda? Not only would it COMPLETELY alienate the current fanbase (It'd be like Call of Duty suddenly turning into bubblegum fantasy), but it would also be so unfitting that the games would just end up repeating the disaster of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. It wasn't a bad movie in itself, but it didn't cater to any audience at all.

In addition to the above, "realistic" games are the ugliest things on this planet. They're hardly even realistic, they're just detailed for the sake of immersion, however in doing this they're forced to sacrifice some of the overall game quality due to hardware limitations. This means that you're stuck with a game with brown on the palette (because adding anything else but grey or brown is apparently too risky of a move) that plays like absolute shit.

Also, the hate on the touch screen is completely unwarranted. The controller has EXACTLY the same button layout as the Xbox and PS3 controllers. Not only that, but Nintendo also wants off screen play to be an option. Off screen play is kind of impossible when you've loaded the touch screen with all of these gimmicky things. Oh, and let's not forget the fucking pro controller which is apparently invisible to everyone on the planet.

The fact that the only reason a lot of people hate the Wii U is because of an EXTRA feature shows that they're just being silly for the sake of being silly. Not buying a console because you don't like the games or think the specs are too low is fine. Hating a console for a bonus feature is not. You might as well be yelling at steam or GOG for giving you free games because obviously, adding things somehow takes away from your overall experience.

Note that not all of these things are aimed at you SaneAmongInsane, I just thought that your post best summed up all the stupidity from uninformed people in this thread.

The fact that you are referencing reviews at all is the point it boils down to.
Reviews are worthless things nowadays, also you are talking about a game that was on the xbox you know really old and didn't take a real good look at it later. It's like the people that say they didn't like zelda 2 and never played or looked at another zelda game again even though they are all different. It doesn't matter if it's lego because it can be applied to any game. And THIS lego game is going to be different.

They are probably thinking about after what was Other M happened.
They will not I repeat will not abandon it.
It may end up being a 3ds title however and none of the handheld Metroids were that bad.

Yes, it's my fault for buying the Wii and not being impressed the sheer amount of shovel ware and lack of 3rd Party Game support. There were a couple of bright spots, No More Heroes for example, but aside from that and a few others... if it wasn't made by Nintendo it was pretty much crap and didn't use the Wiimote controls properly.

Dude. I just don't want to play another standard Mario game, I'd like to see a fresh coat of paint on the IP. See him reimagined.

Oh yeah and I'm really hating on that touch screen by calling it innovative. >.>

I like how the title and OP apparently take for granted than everyone knows whats this "Today´s big reveal" is. Because I dont have a sligth idea of what the hell does that mean.


Either way I am not really interested in consoles anymore, the PC is better in 9 out of 10 situations (the exceptions begin Simplicy of use And maybe exclusives).

Its not that I dont care about nintendo that much, is more than the OP apparently makes it a fact than everyone is knowing what this "Today´s big reveal" is. Hell, itself it says "Today". I am suppused to know every single bit of inromation about a game company? Even If I did knew about it, I wouldt be sure if that was what OP was talking about. Its that simple.

Andddd I have a Mario Avatar because I like him and his series. As in, I never had a wii or further than that but I liked the N64 and gamecube so why not? That... And I am too lazy to find an avatar of my own.

I had that one crazy idea than maybe my avatar should be the PC of whatever game I was playing (Or in the case of multiple PC or games, whoever I like/stands the most) at the moment, but again, I am too lazy, lol.

I have a PC. All the innovation in the gaming industry is occuring on my gaming machine of choice, whilst the console gamers get generic shooters and motion control flailers. Fact is, I don't give a toss what MicroSonTendo are doing with their products, because it doesn't affect me in the slightest.

I get the best indie games, I get the best digital distribution system, the best graphics, the best moddability and the shiniest hardware to play it all on XD

Yes, I know, but I want a true "Okami 2", as in a fully-budgeted sequel on a home console. Not a HD-re-release, not a remake, not a handheld spin-off, not a miniature one-shot episodic-length budget title or whatever.

A real Okami 2 that expands on the obviously open ending of the original.
