Well I've played a few matches as the Alien and had fun. It's like playing as the Spy from TF2, only you can run really fast and jump on walls.

But I do have one complaint; no music. The game just feels empty. Just some atmospheric music to enhance the experience would be nice. Right now it feels lacking in that respect.

my thought of the demo? a complete horrible piece of garbage...
i got into 2 games and it died ....

both times i played as an alien which were cluster f**ked with bad controls .
they move on a grid type walking because their "crawling" making melee harder then it already is, they are slow as arse and have slow melee attacks in general..
the wall climbing is garbage as far as i took it it only confused the hell out of me because i was sticking to every place and end up being upside down when i didn't want to be...

on the other hand the humans seems well balanced with their aim bots and long range weapons....

predators were simply overpowered.. they have ok melee they have guns they have invisibility and apparently they can run which the aliens cant?

It's a demo so I'm not worried overall, but it's buggy, laggy and clunky among other things.

I was really confused when I first took control of the Alien. However after playing a few matches I got used to it.

Also, the Aliens can run. Hit Q to dash. That's essential to being a good Alien. Saved my ass from Marines so many times.

Okay so the connection problems and the choice of MP mode in the demo is bad, why would they do that? It just seem to piss off players... Anyway, since I couldn't play it on my Ps3 I downloaded it on steam, worked, it's pretty fun, as a marine, I got killed my everyone, as a predator, I got killed by aliens, as a alien, I got killed by predators^^

I've only played as the Alien and that's fun enough. Watching a group of marines flee from me is hilarious. Getting owned by the Predator not so hilarious... but still hilarious.

I wish the demo gave you an offline mode to play on, so you could practice.

Yeah, I think I'll be ordering it off of Amazon for 17.99.

One of the finest PC FPS series completely consolized and fucked up. Nice one, Rebellion.

it just goes down to one player required for me. and then nothing can never find 8 players, but i have heard that there have been server problems for the console versions of the demo (better in the demo than the full game) and that its being worked on. tbh i think starting off with 8 players is the best bet to play

This is how I experienced the demo.
*Coffs*
*Clears throat*

When I once got the demo, (it took 200 seconds to download, that is, 2 seconds per 1% and it was an xbox demo) I found out that the only way to try out the game was to play it online with other demo testers. Now, what the fuck is wrong with a spoiler campaign? It's a good way to train out the very AWKWARD controlls, which they certainly were on my part, judging from the perspective of you, using buttons you often NEVER use, for actions just not fitting.
However, I noticed that you could play as three races.
The Humans.
The Xenomorphs.
And of course...
The Predators.
Let me explain the races and their abilities for those not played the demo. Starting humans...
The humans are just like those soldiers you see from the Alien movies. But they are as fragile as they are offensive.
For starters, they got some shove back buttons (again, in very awkward controls) but I NEVER got any use of them, since each and every punt from any enemy, that had further range than my shoves, stuns me enough for them to penetrate my heart, slice it open, squeeze the juice out of it in a wine glass, feel it's flow, it's scent, the taste... And than punt me again so I can't resist. They also got a flashlight that I never really got a good use of, since it reveals a very small area. And with you turning your aim ever so slowly around, it's hard examining where you're going to the fullest. The Xenomorphs and the Predators got their "life detectors", but not the humans. They got their FLASHLIGHT! That can show you two inches at a time! Woo!
Also, with the Xenomorphs being so very dark, it's hard to see them even with the flashlight turned on them. The flashlight doesn't make the area it's pointed at fully visible, it's really dim, like it's battery is going to die in a second. A candle at the end of the fucking barrel would've been much more helpful.

However, their caliber were good. They could use grenade launchers attached to the main gun, that did an extreme amount of damage. They had stim packs, but I never found them of any use, since it takes 1o fucking seconds to use 'em.

The Xenomorphs were kind of fun. You could crawl on the walls, the roof, the inside of your butt-hole... Anywhere, basically. You could also use your tail for an average range combat weapon. But again, controls were to damn awkward, I often turned on something else and got killed. They also had a normal attack that were just as useful. I added in this text to see if you're still reading. If you are, cool. I noticed you could make grips with the Xenomorphs. But I never got to find out why, since it was other players I were going against. They often turned me into slices of ham or into mush before I could even SCRATCH them, literally.

Personally, I didn't play as the Predator (Oh the shame.) since I had it with the stupid game when I was playing human. I think it was a very poor idea to make let the online gameplay be your testing area, and the training dummies other players.
It's like letting some kid who just got a grip of a sword train it in a massive all-out war. It's just not practical.

Anyways, just that demo made me NOT buy the game. That is, giving me the opposite effect of what it wishes. I thought it was a cool game but.. Nope. Not the case for me.
Ow yeah, the controls were awkward.

The PC games were already pretty consolized with auto aiming weapons, large range for melee attacks and slow paced gameplay. Just because it was a PC exclusive doesn't mean it wasn't consolized.
That sounds nothing like the first game (which I just played today, so it's fresh on my mind). I don't remember AvP2 all that well, but it is not as good, though it is a solid game in its own right and obviously has more window dressing. The tactical light and vision use in the first game remains unique to this day AFAIK.

Well my opinion over the game(Demo) changed a lot since they fixed the matchmaking. Went from "meh" to "hey, this might be really really good". It still suffers from consolites(The PC version) and I still suck at it but I'm starting to really enjoy it.

I still would have preferred a SP player demo or at least a team deathmatch MP mode. Though I had buckets of fun playing some matches with only me and another random dude. Marine vs Predator.
