Yes. They can come in any shape or form, but if we were to ever find intelligent life it would probably be a micro organism [bacteria etc.].
Micro organisms like bacteria aren't intelligent life.

They can't even think.
who said anything about them being intelligent?
The guy I quoted.

i believe there is a strong possibility of aliens being there its just that you have to have everything right. in other words i believe alines are out there but i will be scepticle at first to whether its a hoax or not.

doesnt alien just mean any living oragnism outside of our planet so it doesnt have to be intelligent. after all we evolved from single cell organisms unless you believe in creationism (lol)

They have to exist. You see all those stars in the sky, they're suns, and each sun has its own galaxy, Im 100% sure there is life in at least one of those galaxies, there is no chance that we are the only ones.

Probability leaves it essentially certain that other forms of life exist in the universe. Simple.

I remain open to the possibility, but it is unlikely they've been to Earth in the last 10k years. It take *forever* to travel between stars, you know.
Well who says humans were the first to inhabit the universe? They might have the technology.

Aliens most defiantly exist, considering the number of stars and galaxies. It is amazing people could think we are alone. There are billions, no, trillions of similar stars around the universe, with even more orbiting planets. I don't know how common or diverse life is, though I assume on an Earth-like planet, aliens would evolve similarly to us. Of course, an octopus is relatively similar to us, we even share some DNA, so there is no telling what crazy critters lay beyond the stars.

All the thousand billion stars and planets in the universe... there has to be alien life.
It's not even a question of believing in UFOs and the like. Its basically law of averages, somewhere there are aliens.

With the universe being so big. It's almost impossible for them to not exist...

edit:

Lol probably shouldn't have even bothered saying that seems to be that everyone above has said the same thing as me worded in a different way.

Thats how i'd see aliens. Not always a highly advanced race capable of intersteller travel, but more a race of animals, like an alien dog.

A little like the bugs from starship troopers, minus the intelligance

Little off topic, but i'm sure there was a story in the news saying a group of astronauts had found alien life on the moon or something like that, when they brougt specimens back, it turned out to be an earth organism that contaminated the equipment, but they still proved that creatures can live in space therefore on other planets

I do believe aliens exist. The universe, from what we believe goes on forever, so what are the chances that earth is the only planet in space that has life, it just seems hard to believe. I believe there is all kinds of alien races, and some if they met us will like us and others will try to kill us.

I believe they exist and honestly I think anyone who doesn't is completely ignorant. How can anyone believe that out of the billions of planets around the billions of stars, we are the only one with living things on it? There was some guy I used to work with that said that there was no such thing as aliens, yet he believed in god, which I found really weird. Hell, for all I know they could already be here and living with us without us even knowing it. Way I see it though, the only reason they would come here is for some type of alliance (resource trading, support, whatever) or for war. But, why would any other planet want to make an alliance with a planet that is constantly fighting with it self?

Damn Ninja's >=[.

OT: I reckon there's life out there. I find it hard to believe that this is the only inhabitable planet, with life on it, in the whole universe.

I find it mind-boggling that six people so far have the absolute omniscient certainty to vote "no", as if they've insight into something we don't.

Depending on your definition of life, it could range from proteins floating in a puddle under a distant sun, to locomotive animals, to plant-like concepts, to things we've never even imagined! While I would definitely hold a great deal of skepticism about claims to have been abducted by the greys, or that the reptilians are secretly controlling the world, I'd say it's incredibly arrogant to assume that nowhere else have amino acids linked together, and replicated themselves.

As for intelligence...well, that's a different matter entirely. Extraterrestrial intelligence may also take different forms than what we're used to, or similar adaptive pressures may have driven it the "tool user" route like us. We can't say with anywhere near certainty until either we meet them, or we better understand how such pressures affect development.

They live among us.... :O
Well kind of, some spores can survive reentry through the atmosphere, so some species of mushroom could be aliens, living on our planet right now !
