I can't say I enjoyed it, but the most common one is definitely I had shit due the next day. I don't enjoy staying up past 24 hours, but some weeks that was absolutely necessary. If you find you have to stick to a set sleep schedule, then the sciences probably isn't for you unless you are freakishly proactive with assignments.

I'm also a bad sleeper, which doesn't help. Not insomnia, I just wake up a lot when I do sleep. On the plus side, that means sometimes I can wake fully rested with 3 hours of sleep (not terribly often, but when needed).

Longest I've done a gaming session is probably 16 hours, and that was pen and paper. Longest for computer is probably 10.

Yes i have like a 3 days or something kind off. Slept for like 20 hours. All nighters are nothing new to me by the way.

Every now and then when I absolutely can't sleep and I've run out of over-the-counter sleep meds (or can't take them because I've had a few beers), I'll pull an all-nighter. But I try not too. Not getting at least 6-8 hours of sleep per day is terribly unhealthy.

I have pulled it once.
It was a couple of years ago on a school trip to Milan. There were around ten of us in a five person hotel room. Me and a couple of other guys stayed up through the whole night (penalty for falling asleep was getting toothpaste on your face) by doing a lot of stupid shit and managed to catch "Evil Dead 2" on the TV at around 4 AM. That really fucked with my head.
Needless to say I fell asleep on the bus the next day.
Something like that (the toothpaste thing) happened on one of the school trips I've been on, it was kind of funny listening to the huge fight the next morning.

Insomnia, LAN parties, assignments and not-realising-it's-7am-oh-shit-school are my main reasons, in roughly that order. The longest time I've stayed awake was four days of really fucking bad insomnia. I was seeing lights, shadows, movement and shapes in my peripheral vision by the third. Can't sleep.. the grues will eat me.

Combination of high sugar food, poker, SSBB (played for ages on 300% damage, low gravity and high speed)Mariokart and Mario party, and I think there were six of us with the worst two players being replaced. Mariokart was probably the worst because if you loose due to a blue shell at three in the morning things can get a bit violent and you're sure as hell doing another race.

I've once or twice been to parties or clubs that have lasted all through the night, and i've not gone to bed. The longest I've been awake was last year when I started work at 6am, had an alnight party that night, didn't sleep, and then had my own birthday party that night, didn't sleep, and finally went to sleep at about 10pm that evening. So about 60 hours odd.

Never done an all nighter for work or whatever.

No. People can stay awake for months at a time.
But it eventually drives you insane. And yes, eventually, kills you.
I think Poe did that, or was at least alleged to have. Apparently, sleep deprivation gets the creative juices flowing.

Only times I have ever done an all nighter were because I was hanging round a mate's house.

'Fixing a broken sleep cycle'

I work night shift for half the week and study during the day the other half.
My 'sleep cycle' doesn't really exist anymore.
