Poll: All the drowning threads are drowning. Would you save them?

My word there are a lot of drowning things threads. I'll have to dump them all in this river. Now you do have a chance to save all of the threads, do you?

The number of threads that original one spawned is quite astounding. And I'm sick of them already, so drown them all I say. (I know it's hypocritical, but I had a truck and knew where there was a fast river).

Well, it used to be that your PC/Console/Pokemon/TV/Bacon/Steak/Mother/Sister/Uncle (whatever is the dilemna du jour) was burning in the fire, and you'ld have to run back in to save it.
However now things seem to be drowning, wonder if that because of global warming and the sea rising?
Since we have progressed from one element to the next, fire to water, I am eagerly awaiting the next cultural gene-strain:

But I do have a story about throwing things in a river in a hurry!

My dad threw frozen, radioactive contact-explosives in a river once....Some grad students found them in the back of a freezer that hadn't been opened in a decade and called him over since he had made some the year before and knew how to handle them. He did not know how the handle a jug-full. They would have exploded and destroyed the lab the second they thawed, and they didn't have time to bury it deep enough to avoid death. So they threw it in the river and walked away non-chalantly. Great way to catch fish, I suppose.
